Hey anyone else see this? i watched the first episode and wouldnt mind any recommendations, i thought it was interesting and i liked the charachters, interesting premise too.

well, ive only seen the first episode and im not that qualified or into what exactly is going on. Go on google video and watcht he first ep, its peeked my interest enough to try it out for a bit.
EDIT: sseen the 2nd ep, it seems cliched, and kinda unoriginal, im not sure what to think about it yet, i ll probably still watch some more of it, but im not really recommending it.

Shuffle goes along the same genre as Kanon and Air. Basically your hentai visual romance novel made into an anime.
For those lost, the storyline's your usual boy-surrounded-by-half-a-dozen-girls story. Anyway, sometime in another plane, the world of humans is now connected to the world of gods and the world of demons, so it's a mish-mash of everything. Nerine and Sia, the daughters of the kings of the Demon and God worlds respectively, transferred to the human world to be the bride of Tsuchimi Rin, and like these kinds of stories go, because of some event or other during their childhood. Other girls include Kaede, childhood friend and whose house Rin is actually living in, and Asa, one year their senior.
The first half of the first season is focused mainly on the bickering and romance rubbish, so it's nothing to get excited about.
Real stuff occurs in the second stuff, again, like all other anime from this genre.

For a breakdown on the "tragic" lives:
-Nerine, who originally has a weak body, had a clone when the demon and god worlds were experimenting with eternal life or something, and it was this girl who Rin actually met in his childhood days. Anyway, before she died, the clone donated all her health and attributes to save Nerine. Long story short.
-Sia has an alter-ego. Forgot the actual reason, but I believe she had a twin who died, and now lives inside Sia as that alter-ego.
-Kaede places herself before Rin in order to make up for her mistake in the past. She had blamed him for her mother's death (who died together with Rin's parents), and acted VERY cruelly towards him, until she one day found out that it might actually be her fault for their deaths, and now seeks repentance by trying to make it up to Rin. For the record, it wasn't her fault anyway, and her devotion towards Rin borders WAAAY beyond obsession.
-Asa hates herself for being half-demon, partly because her mother is, and used to blame her mother for being weak, who just happens to be a vessel for very strong demon magic. Because she is half human, her body cannot handle the strain of the magic overload, hence her weak body. Only way to lessen the load is for her to actually use that magic, but she doesn't want to.

Anyway, that's the basics of it without revealing too much. Suffice to say the series shows rather disturbing human (or god/demon/whatever) behaviour, and provides for a really good watch. In the later episodes anyway.
So, yeah. sorta recommended, beware of the "generous" amount of ecchi though.
EDIT: Btw, there's also a second season that only just ended few weeks back. I just started watching this, so no comments yet.

I Wiki'd this and found out basically what Roar has just told us. Once I found out it was based on a harem-game with the H-scenes removed I thought I would give it a miss, although Roar's comments about the second part of the series makes it sound kinda interesting.
All those panty shots put me off a little though.
Kare Kano can show girls in short skirts without a single panty shot, so why do others have to do all this fanservice thing?

Yeah, those lewd moments sorta turned me away from it, but since my SEL downlaod isnt working quite right, i may just watch it to fill time, i do like the charachter designs and art, it is realyl good for sig making so ill scout the series for adequate screen caps.

Elfen Lied is lewd. Shuffle isn't.
Personally I feel that all the drama (and there aplenty) pretty much makes up for all the ecchi, which FYI goes beyond panty shots, but that's my opinion.
@Saddle: I wouldn't throw down harem games just like that if I were you. Air and Kanon did pretty well by themselves, and Clannad is getting a movie this September.
Granted, the ones I mentioned are by Key, and so are generally pretty famous (for their storylines too, might I add), but there are several other so-called hentai games out there that are very much successful as anime versions. Tsukihime comes to mind for me.
Besides, nowadays, it's not good hentai games with storylines, it's good storylines with hentai.

I agree Saddles, it has its 'moments' but it isnt overwhelming, it rubs me the wrong way sometimes. but there isnt over excessive violence or nudity. i can deal with Shuffles quirks but Elfen Lied is a bit much.

im kinda in limbo with the series, i cant get the 6th ep on google vid, and i hate skipping eps, ive kinda switched off to rozen maiden, pretty good series but ive only seen the first 3 eps. look foreward to continuing.

So anyway, I literally sped through the second season, Shuffle Memories.
And well, it's exactly that: memories. 11 episodes of recaps. To be more accurate, two episodes each for each character, showcasing... the characters, basically.
Only ep12 is of anything new, and typical of anything remotely close to an OVA, it's pure fanservice. Not really worth watching either, although seeing Kaede in psycho mode again was refreshing.
