Ghibli's midi's .... any of themPost Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Report Post to a Moderator        IP Address Go to the top of this page

Greatings everyone .

As you may have understood from the topic's title, I'm looking for a source where I would find midi's from ghibli's movies.
I found some of them ( Totoro, Laputa.... ) but I need to have the most I can get.
I need those files because I'm using a software called 'RPG Maker' to create .......an RPG (let me guess..... this was obvious, providing the software's name ^^ ).
And midi files are better than MP3 to make a game, because they're lighter .... ( I don't want my game to weight 40 MO or so ^^ )

And since I want my game to have great musics, Ghibli seems to me the best choice .

So ..... any help would be welcome

ps : forgive my english , I hope I didn't made too many mistakes (I'm french) .

ps ( again ^^ ) : I've already tried emule but this won't be enough ....

There used to be a few sites that hosts tons of anime midis, but i think most r closed now.

Another forum i frequent may have it tho.

This will be very helpfull for my game .

Thanks a lot Roarkiller .

I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I could get the music you can hear on the DVD menu of Neko no ongaeshi ( I think it's The cats returns in english ) . ( even in wav or mp3 )
I know I'm maybe asking too much, so let me apologise if I'm boring you .

I think it's R2 .
But I'm surprised, almost any anime has music on the DVD menu ( where you can choose 'Film' , 'Chapters' ..... ) .

So, the french version differs from the US's one. ^^

Anyway, nevermind, I will have the opportunity to check the OST soon.

Thanks a lot for your big help .

I own three ghibli DVDs, none has music on its menu page.

Meh. Good luck anyway.

I finally could get the entire OST and eventually found the song I was looking for.
It's name is "Waltz Katzen Blut", song number 18.

It really is on the french's DVD menu ( I own it , and Laputa too, which has also music on it's menu ) .

It's strange that they didn't do the same thing for every country ^^ .

Anyway, thanks a lot for the time you spent helping me .

Different producer i guess.

Ah, that song, huh? IMO one of the more decent songs in the album. If u read my review in this site, i did mention that some songs r more or less recycled pieces from Whisper, which is really sad.

Yeah I read the review -by the way, I suggest that you write the name of each article's author - so I think I'll check the OST of Whisper of the Wind too ^^ .
I don't know if they recycled the music to keep the atmosphere of the movie who inspired the Cats returns or just because it was easiest to make ^^ ....

Actually, the "recycled" music was based on the theme for Baron, so i guess Nomi Yuuji decided to juz follow the old theme. By itself its okay, but when u dicover that its recycled music, somehow the magic disappears.

This webpage has loads of Ghibli Midi filess. It is in Chinese though. You can guess the names of the corresponding movies from the English file names, or you may try Babelfish to translate the page for you.

Yeah, I do think so too. But, of course, it is not really 'original'.
Anyway, both the OST are great .

Jiji : thanks, there are some very usefull midis there too. Even some rare ones .

Oh you are welcome.

Here is another midi site. It is a Japanese site dedicated to all the works of Joe Hisaishi. Over 40 Ghibli-related midis, from the opening of Nausicaa, to "The Merry-go-round of Life" of Howl's Moving Castle, are available there.
