Although I have a deep affection to Ghibli's Movies... I like to play PS2 too... If you have played Gran Turismo 4 and find the Photo mode amusing... maybe we can share photos....

Here's one of mine... sorry that I modified it...

here's a link if the picture doesn't come up

Wow these are cool . And I stink at writing poems in English, let alone in Japanese.

How fantastic it would be if I could own just one of these in real life.

I have bought GT4 not long ago, and haven't tried it yet. Seems the right time for me to do so now.

P.S. Geocities forbids remote linking of images. If you want your great pictures to show up themselves correctly to everyone in the forums, one lil trick is to change the file extension from ".jpg" to ".txt" before uploading them to the server.

Sorry (^_^;; ). It seems that the forum software is still very strict with the extenstions even though I have tried to relax it a bit. Anyway I have uploaded the images to a free host for you and changed the URLs of your previous posts. They should show themselves properly now.

Here are two nice image hosts that I often use for hosting forum images. Almost 100% hassle-free as no sign-up or login is required. They even prepare the BB code for you so all you need to do is copy-and-paste.

Hehe I have zero experience in commenting pictures.

I personally quite like the first, thrid and fourth one. Just as you have said they are quit a hybrid mix in nature: European cars with Japanese scenaries. They give the "when east meets west" and "when technology meets nature" feelings. But their "meetings" are not really abrupt clashes. Equal attention is given to both the scenaries and the cars. The final products are quite harmonous in tone, and matches the style of the Japanese poem.

The second one has the major focus on the agility and the performance of the race car. The shot was made at a nice angle, but the general atmosphere of high speed clashes with the Japanese calligraphy which is often a symbol of seriousness, care, respect and elegance. It would probably be better if the words were written in a more solid or modern style.

Ratings time :
1st: 8/10 - a very good contrast of the red car and the white snowy background. It would be even better if the car is a bit clearer
2nd: 6/10 - please refer to the above for the comments
3rd: 7/10 - even though the whole theme is in green, the different degree of darkness give a feeling of multi-level. A pity that the black words on the dark backrgound are not that easy to read.
4th: 9/10 - excellent angle, colour and balance. But while I can recognize the themes of the other pictures, I cannot see one in this. The general feeling is thus weaker.

Hehe I have not even started to learn poetry or photography . So my comments are only personal and biased views, and are nowhere near the level of the proffesional or contributive advice.

The upper one (7/10): the red-green contrast is a nice idea, but the overall dark tone diminishes its effect. I think your first picture works better on the matter of contrast.

The lower one (7/10): A nice shot at the first glance. But seeing it more carefully makes me feel that the car is a bit detached from the background. It seems like the two are shot at different time and later stuck together. Also, both of them look flat without a sense of depth. Probably some adjustments at the light and the contrast can add a feeling of naturalness and depth.

btw I feel that you have the potential of having a successful job in the promotion or marketing departments of the automobile companies.

No... not at all... it still a contributive advice... that's why I like people comments... just like Studio Ghibli like to know audience reaction hehehe

btw.. please put your captured photo 'kay.. I would like to see yours...
