Hi Miyako - its a good idea not to post in threads that are old. Going back more than about 6 months is bad forum etiquette. If you want to discuss a subject you found on an old thread you begin a new one.

Roarkiller has been known to enforce the no necro-ing rule by locking threads, so yes it is a big deal.

Hmm, I would definitely say that depends on the context. Perhaps for something like this, with a specific discussion from a very long time ago, it would be more appropriate to start a new thread. But in some cases I would disagree - for example, threads about particular films or series, or just in general, ones that aren't for one set discussion, but for any posts on a topic.

"No necro-ing" is a rule found in many forums, mainly because it's silly to dig up threads that are months or even years old, especially since they're usually several pages back. Making a new thread for a new discussion makes more sense.
Here though, we have threads from last year still on page one. And like Cal and husky said, we're not exactly bustling with activity
Personally, as long as it's not ridiculous or harmful, I'm fine with a little rule bending.

Attacking the admins who run the place for us is not a good idea, why not just accept the rules? They're there for good reason.

Saddles, you seem to be more enthusiastic about the rules than the actual admins. Myself, I think Roar's policy seems the most fair! This is being made into more of an issue that it really is, I would say.

I've only seen
Grave Of The Fireflies
Spirited Away
I thought they were both great films but, Spirited Away was my favourite out of the two.
