Reused animations in arrietty

Did anyone else notice some reused animations in arrietty? I just watched it last night and not only was I upset that arrietty looked almost exactally the same as Fio from porco rosso, (who also to a lesser extent looks a lot like many other female ghibli characters) but I noticed a few scenes in which arrietty moves/is animated in the exact same way. I've never noticed this in any other ghibli films and am wondering if it's a disney influence (as they are known for doing this in most all of their animated movies) or if this lack of quality control stems from the new director

And just to be clear, I mean animations, being reused from other ghibli films,

This is a nice forum and although I love ghibli I regret to inform you all that I won't be an active member of this forum because I don't like its format, nothing personal it's just missing somethings I look for in a forum, but I will be popping in and out from time to time.

In relation to captain Georges post, how do you know that? But I do agree Arriety does look similar to that of Fio, although I wouldn't say she looked like any of the other characters!!!! I still have to watch it yet but I have to wait for it to come out on DVD in the UK, which could be a while!! . Although I do not think it is a Disney influence, if anything Disney are more influenced by ghibli than ghibli is of them. But this issue could have stemmed from a number of things, the fact that they didn't have a big budget so it saved time and money or that he copyed because he struggled to draw certain things or he is without morals and just copyed it hoping no one would notice!!!!!

If I had a computer atm I could do side by side comparisons of the scenes in queston, but my laptop ate my power cable and is currently out of commision

Try the edit button. It helps.

Half the ghibli girls look like sisters. Personally though, I've never noticed any similarities in their movements. Facial expressions, maybe, a few motion sequences, possibly, since the same animators have been doing this job for god knows how long.

But to say they are exactly the same can't be right. Ghibli hand-draws all their movies, even if there are extensive CGs used in backgrounds, they don't use it for character movements.

It was just one gesture looked exactly the same in both, but I guess I was mistaken, anyways this was exactly the shake up this community needed, and what better way to introduce myself but to make a grand entrance that would grab everyones attention

I've just started watching Arrietty for the first time as i speak.

And so far i cant see any similarity's between it and other ghibli films.
(edit) i have finished watching it and i did not see anything that reminded me of other ghibli's apart from the typical ghibli female design.
