I think there's something quite nice about a small community. Although I've only recently been more active on the Tavern, I feel like I'm getting to know and recognise the people who post on here frequently. You don't get that with bigger groups.

Although of course, it's always nice to have new members

I think the Ghibli online fanbase is the size it is because its the size it is.

I also think its pretty damn huge.

You can view the fan-followings of anything like Total War PC games, or the band Metallica, or the Sherlock Holmes books. The internet is entirely silent about them, unless you are where the noise is, and then its very loud.

Ghibli is monstrously popular in Japan but you almost never see Japanese web fan pages if you only run searches for English language pages.

i actually do so by google translate. To search engine grammar is pretty unimportant so i still can get some pages. But actually that is nothing compared to the huge data out there.
