Just finished watching "Up on Poppy Hill" again...

As I explained in another thread, this time I noticed the supply ship that was Umi's father's ship in the Korean War. It was an LST, (Landing Ship, Tank) A supply ship classification that landed up against a beach where the bow doors would open up and a ramp lowered to the beach for the wheeled cargo to drive down ontp the beachhead. My friend that I've known for almost 17 years, We are poart of a group of Veteran's that go to San Diego every month, weather and health permitting, and volunteer restoring and, now mostly, just keeping the Vietnam Vet's Memorial site cleaned up and repaired as needed.

And yes, I cried even more this time as I understood the story even more this time around...
