I saw the movie quite recently and to be honest I didn't think too much of it. I don't see much resemblance between Millions and My Neighbour Totoro either.
The main character, Damian, was a little too 'goody two-shoes' for me and the film felt like it was trying to impose his ethics on the audience. I found it almost near impossible to relate or sympathize with the character, his behaviour, and particularly his creepy delusions.
On a more positive note, the rest of the cast were pretty good and the film featured some beautiful camera work. I also liked the notion of two kids finding a million pounds (or more like 200,000 I think) -although I don't like the way it was handled..
