Terashima Aoi's debut album?Post Reply with Quote Edit/Delete Post Search for Posts by Roarkiller Report Post to a Moderator        IP Address Go to the top of this page

Found this: http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=YCCW-10028

It's supposedly Teshima's debut album, but I doubt that's the actual cover. And supposedly there's 10 other songs aside from the two that appears in the GS movie.

It should be for real, but what's the other 10 tracks? I can account for at most 2 of which may be the karaoke, but the rest...

Hmm, interesting question.

Unable to read Japanese I can't really say, but perhaps you can find out on her official website?

This is notes of Teshima Aoi. This is what she wrote for web site of her school(C&S Music Scool), before she was selected for Song of Therru. (It's deleted now. You can't find google's cashe.)

High school Course - - - Department of Vocal - - - Ms.Teshima Aoi

I became to like more the singing and the listening after I had entered this school.

when I was small I loved music of films. I liked songs that was sung Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, and Audrey Hepburn very much. and I was singing frequently while listening.

When I was 14 years old ,I heard the song of Louis Arm Strong, and I was shocked. After that, I came to listen JAZZ on the radio, and I wanted to sing very much.

I thought there was a thing that had to be learnt to go into the workforce. I learned there was a school that was able to do the study of high school and study of music at the same time. I thought that I should challenge it.

I became to like more the singing and the listening after I had entered this school. I can hold out the study of high-school, because I can study a favorite thing. I hope people who love Music, and who wants to try own possibility, visit this school.

I thought that I want you to listen my favorite songs in my voice. I study and listen to a lot of music as people will want to listen my songs.

Why does Audrey Hepburn get mentioned so many times for seiyuus and singers alike there? I hear it too in the anime REC.

Btw, you might want to re-spell "learnt" to "learned"

I like young Audrey Hepburn, too. But her song is ...
"My Fair Lady",,, many of Japanese might not know her song was dubed.

"Song of Therru" ranks 5th during the released week(24000 sales).
This is a first rank in Ghibli works.

Teshima Aoi said,
"I am very glad to listen a lot of people. If people listen to "Song of Therru", and they will think that they want to see "Ged-Senki", I am happy."

Damn, I still haven't sent my order on CDJapan yet.

Ah well, maybe I'll gather up some strength to get my lazy bones to move, and send the other two letters I have to send too.

Oh well my wallet seems to be doomed to moan in pain again and again. I have just dished out a whole lot of money on getting a first press of a Key game...

Anyway I am wondering if I should get both of the CDs. We usually have legitimate local releases of Ghibli movie OSTs in my city, selling for around US$10-15, much cheaper than their Japanese counterparts.

But for the image album, I will probably have to import it from Japan as the both the local distributor and audience don't seem to be remotely interested in them. For those who have the image CD in possession, what is your opinion on "Song of Therru," as well as other tracks in the CD? Do you think they well worth the price?

P.S. the past tense of the irregular verb "learn" comes in alternate but equally correct forms, "learned" and "learnt." The only difference between the two spellings is that the former is more common in American English whereas the later in British English. I personally prefer the Queen's language.

Native Americans don't speak English. Those "whites" and "Blacks" living there are mostly either from Europe or Africa.

Supposedly the American english is spelled as such because of simplification. Like how "colour" is spelled color because the ancestors thought the 'u' was useless, and so dropped it.

Anyway, that aside, does anyone know of any online shops that sells Tower Records' version (white cover) AND accepts money order (no credit card)?
