Hi everyone!
In school, I'm doing a project called the civilization project where you basically create your own civilization. The only thing that limits you is the biome that your civilization is in. I already had one suggestion to do a civilization similar to Nausicaa's and I think it's a great idea. So I was wondering if anyone had any links or something that might give me some info on their civilization? Of course I wouldn't copy Miyazaki's ideas, but I was thinking of incorporating some of his ideas into my civilization and kind of personalizing it to make it my own. So can anyone help? biomes, huh. well, you can find out all the biomes of the world, and find one that suits Nausicaa the most, or if there are 2, you can collide them. BTW, you live in Bellevue? I live about 30 minutes away from you - I live in Mill Creek!!

Well I don't think there's a biome on Earth similar to the one in Nausicaa's, because a forest of that harmful or degrading a nature doesn't exist in the first place.
However, the closest idea would probably be Africa's desert civilisation (think of the ever-expanding desert as the Sea of Corruption). Crops would be grown in very select areas and places people could actually live would be limited, but populous, and trading between countries would mean crossing large distances.
That's the general idea when I think about Nausicaa, anyway.

Thanks for the ideas, yeah, and I kinda forgot to mention that my biome is desert. Oh and Roarkiller, for my project i've decided to do mine somewhere in the sahara desert in africa, so it does work out. however, i wasn't really talking about the fukai, more about the valley of the wind, where all of nausicaa's people live ya know? thanks for the ideas though everyone. 
btw, ILuvHowl06, yeah, that's really cool. I live in the sorta bellevue,redmondy,kirklandish area. i dunno it's hard to explain...mostly in redmond actually but pretty near bellevue and i think it's a cool place...i doubt that it would be that far away from where you live though....
