The first anime that Miyazaki wrote and storyboarded completely on his own was "Panda kopanda" in 1972, and it was directed by Isao Takahata. Previously, in 1971, Takahata and Miyazaki had co-directed episodes 7-8, 10-11, and 13-23 of "Lupin III: Part I". Also, Miyazaki was heavily involved in the Toei classics "Horus, Prince of the Sun" (1968; directed by Takahata), "Puss 'n Boots" (1969; directed by Kimio Yabuki), and especially "Animal Treasure Island" (1969; directed by Hiroshi Ikeda), contributing key animation, designs, storyboards, story ideas, and image boards. The first anime that Miyazaki directed as well as wrote and storyboarded himself (ok, with some help from Takahata, Soji Yoshikawa, and others) was "Future Boy Conan" in 1978. His first feature film which he directed as well as wrote (with Haruya Yamazaki) and storyboarded was "Castle of Cagliostro", loosely adapted from works by Maurice leBlanc and "Monkey Punch" (Kazuhiko Kato).
Miyazaki's company is called Studio Ghibli, though he has previously worked at:
Toei Doga
A Pro
Zuiyo/Nippon Animation
Shinei Doga

Top Craft
NHK (for the production of Takahata's documentary "The Story of Yanagawa's Waterways" (1987)
