I'm just curious really. None of the mainstream cinemas here (Melbourne, Australia) play any Ghibli movies ever but sometimes I'm lucky enough to catch them at the Astor-theatre. They have Howls Moving Castle, Spirited Away and Nausicaa there which is pretty cool although I e-mailed them asking for more of course. I really love the way that they play subs and not dubs.

If you know a cinema that plays Ghibli please post it's location as I think it would be a good idea to share this information.


P.S If you are from Melbourne also then I'm not asking you.... I'm telling you!

I don't think any of them are showing any at the moment. For immediate info though, you can subscribe to Madman's mailing list. I used to get it regularly, and it sometimes alerts us on which cinemas are playing what.

You could try anime fanclubs too. I could hook you up with a friend, but he lives in Adelaide though.

the recent NZ Film Festival doesn't have a Ghibli entry. Disappointing.
