I finally got round to trying them out. I've found that I'm not so keen on their early stuff though... good guitar and lyrics anyway.

Music Box - Thrice

Yeah some of their early stuff is pretty thrash. Anything from Artist in the Ambulance forward is pretty good. Might want to avoid the Fire disc of the Alchemy Index. But Im sure you will like Earth, Air and Water. Vhessiu is probably the most balanced album, songs like Red Sky, Atlantic and Image of the Invisible are just awesome.

Yes, I agree wholeheartedly... It is said that most people will not recognize their own voices if they hear it unexpectedly...

When I was asked to sing on stage at the Armed Services YMCA and thee USO way back in 1968 or 69, I wasn't sure of my ability at all. I went with some of the entertainers and they recoirded me on a small tape recorder. I decided that it wasn't anything that I would be embarrassed by so i went ahead and did the two shows. Did about 5 in all and ended up getting away from it with other things in my life... But it was fun. And, I would never have known that it was me singing if I hadn't just recorded it...

I am listening to a dog barking in the distance...

I know! My voice sounds so weird when I hear it recorded! And then i think that perhaps I wish that I had a different voice, haha.. well... I dunno... just not what I expected?
