They are both very hurt, but the girl is the worst, leaving her to lie in bed, recovering as the boy goes on his next quest alone.

he is out numbered ten to one with technology twice as advance as the technology he uses himself..
the arms of his robot get busted off and his robot gets propelled straight down to earth ...booom!!!!!!!!!!!!!
followed by a dust cloud...
then the wreckage of the robot is reveiled...shratnall is everywhere..
blood oozes from the wounds the guy suffers he's shaking violently and has gone into severe shock...

And then a mysterious figure appears, and takes him away to try and magically heal all his wounds!

they guy wakes up in a warm bed and looks up and focuses on a cloaked mysterious figure,
the figure takes off his filthy cloak to reveal and old man
hunched over with age.

The boy's eyes are all fuzzy, and then he gapes for a moment, only to settle back down, because he realizes that it can't be his father, he died in piloting giant robots... (although it is his father, duh. I mean, characters have to come back from the dead sometime or another.)

The man who is obviously the boy's dad explains that it is the boy's destiny to defeat the evil Lord [insert villain's name here].

then the boys father explains how general largoth was a soldier beneath him, and how he betrayed everyone of his squadrom for personal gain and power, and has ruled since spreading chaos and fear....

And the only way to defeat General Largoth is to find the hidden Crystal, which is guarded by many trials that the boy must face. (haha, it's funny how this started out with a girl protagonist on an ordinary school day, and switched to the boy, attempting at saving the world from evil, haha.)

...and it turns out the girl has the secret crystal as a pendant on her necklace, and she is the last princess of a great line of magical beings who can wield the true power of the crystal...

Only Gen. Largoth wiped her memory and made her think she's an ordinary Tokyo schoolgirl instead.

(instead of like - duh - just killing her!)

Gah! Megatokyo spoilers!

In his next battle the teen-pilot-hero-schoolboy defeats one of the General's Lieutenants and in a long death scene the Lieutenant gasps out that he knew all along that the General was evil and that there is one girl who with the boy can save the world... then he dies but this episode closes with the boy looking up at the sunset with a thoughtful look on his face... How many girls do I know...? Who COULD it be...?

he decides to send his most powerful and cunning of his soldiers to dispose of the boy and girl (as the body of one of his Lieutenant is drawn to his attention).

And because of this, he attacks the boy with all the more power, although neither the boy or the girl (although they love each other all the same) haven't confessed their love. But the evil enemy sees it in their eyes, when the boy heroically rescues the girl...

the boy finds awesome strength and fights the soldier until he defeats him , but not before the evil soldier expresses his feelings for the princess as he dies slowly on the ground.....
(now thats cliche..)

Afterwards, the boy stands in awe of his awesome power, unsure of whether it was good or not. Was he some sort of monster? (oh, so, so cliche...)
