Just finished reading Push, the novel which Precious the movie was based on.

I'm now reading Eat, Pray, Love.

Having finished The Tale of the Body Thief a little while ago, I made a start on Memnoch the Devil the other day, fifth book in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Love these books.

I've not been doing much reading lately, which is a shame. Most recently I was working my way through the second Machine of Death book, which is pretty good. I still have a few stories left to read from that, so maybe I'll get back to that soon.

I'm rereading some Diana Wynne Jones books. Hexwood and Castle in the Air. So sad she died =( I really loved her books as a kid.

Wow, Castle in the Air. It had a weird transition from Middle East setting to English setting. I could totally see it as a movie similar to The 13th Warrior.

After Dark by Haruki Murakami. Why did the direct translation of parka remain? I was laughing because there was no way the girl was wearing an actual winter parka if she also had another jacket.. My Japanese friend always said parka instead of hoodie so I think that's why. Still, it made me giggle.

I've been snatching up Murakami's books whenever I can afford them (whoa, why must books me so expensive in Canada). I just really like the covers of the English translated books. Particularly this one's cover. I like his books because they remind of something I might write.

I'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Haven't gotten very far, but so far it's good.

TITUS GROAN BY MERVYN PEAKE,
book one of the gormenghast trilogy I have read this
trilogy many times and it still holds my imagination,
truly wonderful books just think what STUDIO GHIBLI
could do with them. (I live in hope).

Gormenghast is a crazy book, sheer weirdness but very engrossing. The BBC did a series of the book a few years back with Ian Richardson as Lord Sepulchrave. I recall it was a brilliant rendition.

The other two books in the trilogy just get weirder and weirder.
