If you read an article linked to from that one, you'll see that the line owners are only concerned about people walking the tracks if they're in use. Since no trains are running there is no current initiative to police the route. It seems walkers and cyclists along it are very common.

I was at a Subway sandwich shop last night and it was close to closing and the guy was making up my order and noticed my Totoro tattoo and we started talking. He clued me in on this and said to just go to 'Tested' on Youtube which was where I found these...

The closest that I can relate to wearing a comic-con costume is when I was asked to be a Santa for three years running... That was HOT inside that thing and my sympathy went out to all of the Santa's that I had seen over the years...
