Posted by ~OneSummersDay~ on 05.09.2013, 12:55 PM: I own 16 studio ghibli soundtracks, and love them all! Joe Hisaishi is just mind-blowing. This is one of my favourites though, from the Ponyo Image album - Rondo of the Sunflower House.

Posted by ~OneSummersDay~ on 05.09.2013, 04:46 PM: Yeah it's gorgeous, I first discovered it when I bought the 'Joe Hisaishi in Budokan' concert DVD (which I highly recommend!), and later purchased the MP3, which is on the Ponyo image album. In this clip from Youtube at about 3:00 in the recording, you can see her singing it live:

Posted by Miyako on 05.11.2013, 05:50 PM: Hi,what do you think about Kaze ni naru(The cat returns)?! |
Posted by San Toelle Ul Shichikokuyama-g on 05.12.2013, 12:05 AM: I like it. It's upbeat and fun. |
Posted by Roarkiller on 05.12.2013, 12:25 AM: I think the reason why songs from concerts and other albums sound better is because they don't have to fit into any particular scene of a movie or a show. That way, the composer can go crazy in being innovative with the music score.

Posted by husky51 on 06.20.2013, 11:56 AM: There are so many that I like the sound of, that it is hard for me to make a decision... In fact, I can't! I just love most of them... |
Posted by Random Watcher on 07.12.2013, 02:41 AM: Some of my favorite songs come from "Kiki's Delivery Service" like Departure, On a clear day, and Lipstick Message. |
