Posted by Nausicaa_Cat on 08.19.2014, 08:36 AM: I don't know how I feel about the doppelganger situation because I feel like the kind of comedy or whatever that would naturally result from that would be sort of 'comical mix-ups' and 'mistaken identity' stuff and I always find that kind of irritating and slapstick. Those kinds of misunderstandings in a plot just tend to frustrate me.

Posted by Saddletank on 08.19.2014, 09:14 AM: I'm not sold on the doppleganger idea because it seems like a great deal of hard work. Playing one character before and remembering how they interweaved with evryone else was a job enough, but playing two who lookj the same would be intense. More work than I think warrants it, given the kinds of comical things the situation would produce, as NC says.

Posted by Saddletank on 08.19.2014, 03:28 PM: I'm keeping the original idea in my mind because I think it would make a great RP. I'm a bit surprised that you didn't like it. I just didn't see anything dark in it at all.

Posted by Saddletank on 08.19.2014, 04:54 PM: Oooh now that's a fun idea. The player-characters as a team of helpers (maybe with spirit guides) who are a 'fix-it' squad for all kinds of problems (personal, community, mundane, serious, light, dark, whatever) across a community feels really cool.
|
Posted by Nausicaa_Cat on 08.22.2014, 11:18 AM: How do others feel about the idea of a fix-it/helper squad?
|
Posted by Saddletank on 08.22.2014, 01:15 PM: More relaxed playing is a good thing, as is SoL, since if people are busy their characters can drop out for a scene or two and pop back on stage later.

Posted by Saddletank on 08.31.2014, 07:07 AM: Any more thoughts on this? It does look like we're not going to engage the interest of everyone with a single idea. This would mean just some forum members playing but some not wanting too. I don't really have a response for that situation.
|
Posted by Roarkiller on 08.31.2014, 11:48 AM: How did we start the original anyway? Does anyone remember?

Posted by husky51 on 08.31.2014, 03:51 PM: I don't know as I was'nt a member then, but seems to me that one person should be picked to give an opening scenario and story. Such as...

Posted by Saddletank on 08.31.2014, 05:24 PM: I'm more in favour of a planned story than one that has no plan and grows organically.

Posted by husky51 on 08.31.2014, 06:37 PM: I was taking a nap in my cool room and as I was waking up, I thought of this idea.
|
Posted by Roarkiller on 09.01.2014, 11:18 AM: I like that. But rather than being confused, why not have them be already used to it?
|
Posted by husky51 on 09.01.2014, 11:45 AM: Because this gives the premise of the spirits needing help in some manner that the new residents, mostly young ppl, can give them...

Posted by FlareNetworkC on 09.06.2014, 08:46 AM: I like the Fix-it squad idea, as it seems that it would flow more naturally. I really want the whole mystery element to be more of a side plot than the central theme, as we already tried that with Isakaya, but the Fix-it squad sounds interesting.can someone do a post to update what we have so far?
|
Posted by FlareNetworkC on 09.07.2014, 06:45 AM: Well, since I haven't thrown any ideas yet, I better put out Something.

Posted by FlareNetworkC on 09.07.2014, 06:22 PM: Come on, please. SOMEONE. SAY. SOMETHING. ANYONE. EVEN. SAVIOUR.
