Posted by Disionity on 03.17.2015, 02:46 AM: Only Yesterday North American Release I'm currently trying to get Omohide Poro Poro (Only Yesterday) released in the US. I Have looked into some options and discussed the matter with Daniel Thomas MacInnes of Ghibli Blog, and have decided the most feasible method is to contact Criterion about it. Disney has flat-out refused to release it and GKIDS films hasn't expressed much interest either. However, Criterion has an email address where one can send requests for films that they wish to see released through their Criterion Collection. Each email is claimed to be reviewed by the Criterion staff and every title given consideration. I have contacted them about Only Yesterday and they sent the following reply:
