I am currently rereading the book and I can almost picture the animated version. I think Studio Ghibli could do a great job of it. Howl's Moving Castle was amazing and Sabriel is somewhat in that genre. I know Garth Nix was in talks to make a film and developed a screenplay for a live action version in 2008 but I think it'd be so much more charming as an anime.
