Is this the origin of "Anime was a mistake"? I haven't watched this, but that screenshot became really popular - largely among people who thought it was a real quote and used it to support their point of view. Nowadays I only see it come up as a joke, but it's become kind of obnoxious by now.

I haven't watched "anime was a mistake" so I don't know. I am pretty sure its not.

This spoof is just footage taken from "Kingdom of Dreams and Madness" but with bogus funny subtitles, something like the many Hitler rant scenes from that bunker film (whose title I forget). It may well not be to people's tastes and if it is too "blue" for the Tavern I'll happily delete the link. Given how so obviously fake it is (vs Miyazaki's real views) and how it attacks modern mass-marketed tacky anime and its fans I simply found it hilarious.

Husky - a pity - I suppose a lot of the other sites just link you back to the YT file. Sounds like there's a bunch of unsavoury sites in that list so I've removed the link.

I got the same error message. I'm able to watch other videos by RC Anime though, so it's strange that only this one doesn't work in the US.

I don't know as I haven't seen it either, River, but according to Saddles, it contains a couple of 'F'-bombs so that may be it with the network...
