Posted by husky51 on 04.27.2015, 12:19 PM: I like your 'Cats-eyes' better than the simple 'Botts-dots' that we have here in the States. Far, far better, either one, than simple lane stripes. We have an especially unsafe, IMO, freeway curve here a few miles from where I live that is especially dangerous, again IMO. There are five lanes in all going around the curve and they are only marked with stripes!!! They had the Botts-dots at one time, but they have worn off (only glued on, more or less). and what doesn't help is that there is a pavement separation between two strips of pavement that catches the eye in the #2 and #3 lanes going around the curve and you have a tendency to follow it rather than the faded stripes!!! At least I do, and I've been driving it for decades!!! I have to fight the urge every time I drive it. And when it raining???!!! Forget it, you can't hardly see the stripes!!!
