Most greater movies go unknown, simply because the public in general don't like it/don't watch it.

Being popular or having outstanding box office records is a measure of how succussful the film is, but has nothing to do with the measure of how great it actually is.

As surprising as it sounds, I find that film festival critics are generally endowed with good tastes, so whatever they highly recommend, you can safely say it's pretty true.

Everything Ghibli..... except Grave of the Fireflies. Too sad. And Fruits Basket - but I cried buckets at the last two episodes and I've never cried at anything on tv ever, so I can't watch them anymore because the pillows get all soggy.

spirited away no doubt

though i do love tons of others nearly as much!!!

i love princess mononoke but reacently i watched it again and i didnt get the same trill and excitment as befor so i was disappointed

i also think whisper of the heart and only yesterday doesnt live up to its expectations and reveiws which are all so good. nevertheless they are still brilliant!

full metal alchemist is my favourite anime TV series - so dark, sinister, magical, funny and more

I only watched The Place Promised in our Early Days for the first time this week. I'm kinda ashamed to admit that considering how long I've loved anime and whatnot.

It was fantastic, little else needs to be said, other than if you haven't seen this yet go out and watch it!!!!!!!

Yeah, it was sad. But I think if it would have ended on a high a lot of emotion would have been lost. The film seemd to just be so slow and relaxed, it didn't feel like it had anything to prove, there was no dramatic build up to some impossible event. If they'd have gone overboard I don't think it would have been as good.

Possibly a funny story is how I ended up watching it in the first place. One of my favourite manga series is Negima, and in one of the volumes (14 Iirc) Ako is seen wearing a T-shirt with the name of film printed on it. I was bored that particular evening so I typed it into Google and read about the film on Wikipedia. 2 hours later I'd downloaded it and was watching it home in my bubble-chair with my feet up and a can of cold beer. The perfect evening

my story for finding it is i was looking in a dvd store with 4o dollars and i had one minute to choose an anime so i grabbed the nearest one, went home, plonked myself on the floor in my pjs and immediently fell in love with the movie.
bit worried when takuya held that gun at hirokis head, i honestly thought he was gonna shoot.

Yeah me too,
we're clearly very gullible people.

Voices of a distant star. (Hoshi no koe)

Only a short movie, but moving and brilliant.

I don't know... I'm gullible, but if a fake spider fell in my lap I would laugh. There are too many living in my house to be afraid of them.

Right now my favorite movie would have to be The Cat Returns, because I just watched it. But another good one is Fruit Basket. Also Escaflowne,Saiunkoku Monogatari, .hack// The Legend of Twilight are very good.
