According to a local newspaper here in St. Louis

Here's some info from the Botanical Garden's web site.
http://www.mobot.org/events/JapaneseFest...apaneseFest.asp
Japanese Festival includes sumo wrestling, a geisha presentation, traditional tea ceremonies, the anime film “My Neighbors the Yamadas” (1999), and candlelight walks in the Japanese garden. Sept. 1 and 2, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sept. 3 (Labor Day), 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. $10 adults, $7 seniors, $3 Garden members, $3 children ages 3 to 12, free for members’ children (12 and under).
PS American anthropologist and author Liza Dalby will be there too. She served as an advisor for the film version of Memoirs Of A Geisha.

Kudos to the late and great Peter Boyle! FYI
He's famous for playing the Frankinstine monster ( In Young Frankinstine ) To younger generations he's known as Raymond's dad (in Everybody Loves Raymond).
His version of Muta rocked!
Peter, where ever you are, you ROCK DUDE!

I kinda feel sorry for Hiroyuki Morita. He's kinda new at directing so I'm hoping that he will improve.
Um sorry let me rephrase that. He's the "new guy" and compairing him to the old pros is a little un fair. That's why I feel sorry for him.
This guy has a lot of promise and will get better.

Well you are entitled to your opinion.
Even though I love the film there where some bits that I didn't care for. Tim Curry ruined the The Cat King.
In my opinion the film's musical score was top notch. Way to go Yuugi Nomi!
By the way this film is linked to another Studio Ghibli film called Whisper of The Heart. Both TCR and Whisper were based on magna by Aoi Hiiragi.
I kinda feel sorry for Hiroyuki Morita. He's kinda new at directing so I'm hoping that he will improve.

All 3 baby!
I think it's better when it's home made. That way you KNOW what's in it.

That might be a little harder then you think.
As far as know there are 2 major dilects in China.
Manderin and Cantonese
Both are so different.
Example : One Chinese person speaks manderin and the other speaks cantonese.
You put them together at a table in a restaurant.
Even thought they are both Chinese, they would not understand each other at all!

Look on the bright side at least they didn't do a total hack job like 4Kids Entertainment did with Yu Gi Oh and other anime.

There are ALOT of animation programs. The best one I know of is Animation Shop. That one is for at home computer users like us.
From what I saw on the DVDs they use water colors in some of the backgrounds.

Nice lay out. A lot of these movies wher based on books and manga. Maybe you should put some info on that.
But if you want a truly unique spin... try spotlighing some of Ghibli's new talent once in a while.

The only exception is Whisper Of The Heart. The Cat Returns is sort of a sequal. TCR is a story written by Shizuku.
Baron and Muta where orignally from Whisper.
It even has one of the instrumental peices from Whisper that where used in 2 key scenes.

Yeah it's an ad.
Opera and Fire Fox browsers are pretty good at blocking that stuff with out interfearing with my site's navigation and other functions.

Hey ya gotta remember there are copy write laws.
If I where you I'd only upload 1 or 2 songs.
If people like them then please encourage them to buy the CD.

Well I like YuGiOh too.
But I like most kinds of Anime and magna.
Old school anime like Astroboy, Speed Racer and Transformers.
Yu Yu Haksusho
Slayers
Revolutionary Girl Utena
The Cat Returns
Kiki's Delivery Service
And that's just the tip of the iceburg!
LOL You should see my room! My tv cabinet is stuffed with anime tapes and DVDs. I have anime toys and manga scattered all over.
Astroboy and Speed Racer dubs where shown here in the US in the 60s.
In the 70's and 80's there where Christain children shows like Flying House and Superbook that are also anime.
Most american adults who watched those shows back then still have no clue that those shows where orignally Japanese.
When I tell people that those shows where anime, they are pretty surprised and some are even shocked.
---------------------------------
Pop culture isn't just about what's going on now, it's also about the past too. Guys like the Beatles helped pave the way for the new artisits of today.
-----------------------------------
Sad to say most people outside of Japan think of anime and manga as "Kid Stuff". I have to resist the urge to slap folks or roll my eyes, when they make coments like, "Why are you reading a kid's book?" "Oh you got kids?"
