(Wow, I havent logged in to this forum in ages. >_______> )
AHA. So, has anyone here read the Angelic Days spin off. A friend of mine (who happens to like Angelic Days more than the original) lent the first volume to me. I would love to say it was a refreshing and entertaining alternative to the rather dark and complicated series, but alas, I must say that it was poorly drawn and made me want to drown myself in the coffee maker. I wasnt too happy about the fact that Kowaru was used cheifly for comedic relief, and that Rei is along the lines of "OH HAI GAIZ I HAS TOAST. I HAVE A SHORT SKIRT AND I'M AN APPARANT FLIRT, LOL. KAWAI DESU DESU!!!!11one!!!"
I truly cringed.
I had really hoped for something a little better, maybe something that doesnt (excuse the term) rape the personality of every character.
Also, I wanted my little emo Shinji back. I missed his ramblings on his unimportance and lonliness. :3

I do seriously believe half the problems in this world can be solved by educating ignorant people. Not ignorant as in not formally educated (although that would help too), but ignorant as in closed-minded.
BTW, the same thing happened to after I bought the 5th HP book. EVERYONE I met screamed out"Oh! So-and-so dies! So sad!" And I was just like "Yes, well, T_T"

Well, I know what the highlight tomowrow will be! I'm going to my first anime con!
But today, I guess it was when I got an A and a B on my math quizzes today. What else? Not much. My life is pretty boring.

I get goosebumps down my spine every time I heaar that song/poem.
And guys - no spoilers here please about Rei, let's let Mnem find out for herself 
Thanks for your concern about the spoilers. Yeah, I read about that song. See, about a second after I told a friend of mine that I was watching Eva, she told me half the spoilers. I just went "Oh, well, uh, thanks..." So, I went ahead and read the plot on wikipedia, and though it spoiled it for me, it has made the series a heap more easier to understand. And so far, the only minor problem I find with the show is that it has alot of fanservice.
It was funny, because the other day, I was on another forum, and I mentioned I watched Eva (or maybe she saw my signiture, its Shinji) and she was totally grossed out and went into a rampage on how Eva sucks and it's a bad show and all the fans hate it (which really doesnt make any sense to me) and how it is "terrible in all its emo glory", yet, at the end of her little rant, she said how she has actually never watched or read it, doesnt even know what its about, and she was just going on "based off what people told her". That, my friends, is what we call ignorance. I wasnt so mad on that she insulted the show, just how she could so heavily insult it without even have seen it. -sigh- People...
Tomowrow I'm going to an Anime convention for the first time. Maybe they will be some Eva stuff there. ^^
And lastly, why dont you guys just make a Classic Anime thread?

I would assume there already was a thread on this, but I couldnt find one, so I made one. But if there is already one, well, sorry for that.
Anyways, I love this show! I'm about halfway through the series, and almost done with the manga. I don't know why I love it so much, but I really do. My favorite character is Rei. She is so cool, although she almost never talks. Shinji is also awsome, 'cause he's always so afraid, and dare I say, emo. Asuka is funny, but she can be a little annoying. But I really love the plotline. It's just so out there, it's a breath of fresh air. And it's addicting. So, anyother fans out there?
P.S. A piece of advice, do NOT watch Eva and SNL before going to bed.

Well, I dont really dont care, as long as I can read it. Just wondering. But reading on the computer never really is the same like reading on paper. It's different when youve got the real thing in your hands and you can curl up on the couch and stuff.
Plus, I have a set of Ghibli movies, bought it for $36.67 on ebay.

Thanks guys, this helps alot.
My friend reads Deathnote, and yeah, I wouldnt say its shoujo, but it seems awsome anyways. I used to watch Cardcaptor Sakura, and Ive wanted to read it, so its a good thing that its recommened. ^_^
And is that online scan one manga thing completly legal?I find it a bit "iffy".

| Manga noob here! (Just finished my second one! -is proud-) |      |
So...
I have been an anime fan (more or less) for a while (roughly six years). So, I have many friends who are obsessed with manga, so I thought "What the heck, I'm an avid reader anyways, might as well try it." So, I checked some out from my library (they only have like, 12 though), and loved them. My first was Beauty Pop vol. 1, which was so adorable and funny. The second was Sakura Taisen vol. 1, which was okay, but I still would like to continue reading it. Ive had many suggestions (Full Moon, Off Beat, Loveless, MeruPuri, Vampire Knight, ect.)
Anyone have any suggestions of shoujo manga I could read, that is relativily inexpensive (I have no moneys >.< ) and kind of easy to find?

Sometimes people are turned off by subs. Trust me, I rather show someone who doesnt watch anime a dub than one with only subs. It gets a little tedious when they move fast, too. And when its only subs, somethings are lost in translation.

If you dont know, occasionally, Cartoon Network, and on theyre Toonami block (well, usually, since, Toonami contains all the "anime" on Cartoon Network) play Ghibli movies. They play Spirited Away the most (Of course...). I can only remember once when they played Princess Mononoke (And I wouldnt be surprised if the "edited it for time and content" ). Right now, like I'm watching it right now, theyre playing Howls Moving Castle.
At least Cartoon Network has taste. XD
Disney doesnt even play Spirited Away, and they own it.
