I like anime and animation in general because I see through a different mind'eye while watching these films when compared to watching live-action films. It registers with the child in me...
pushing my imagination.
Even realistic animations are enhanced due to the drawn appearance.

anime for me is amazing!! everything about it, from the totally hot guys to the bubbly girls!! the story line for every anime is so typical but for some reason its the most wounderfull thing since sliced bread. for me thats all i do is draw my own twists of different things ive picked up from different anime's over the years!! people @ school think im strange, a 16 year old in love with cartoons, but its something i have a passion for so i dont really care!! LOL i said to much!

I love anime for the same reason that I love animation (and CG) in general, you can do things in a cartoon that would either be impossible, or too expensive, to do in a live action movie. There is no limit to the things that you can create using animation, it is a way to bring every thought in your head to life...i love anime, and all cartoons for that matter, from Urotsukidoji to Family Guy to Jimmy Neutron, I love it all more that life itself!
Oh yeah, and in anime, most of the men are really fine!! *drools*

I love animé too, of course !
My favourite bit is the music, and how the music blends in with the animation. It tranports me to a different world entirely... that's the best thing.
It happens when I read an amazing book too. For a while the outside world disappears, and the only existance I'm aware of is the animé or the novel...
*blushes* sometimes I even daydream in animé style, whipping up new worlds to explore...

or a videogame. I love anime for all the reasons meantioned before too, especially when anime costs much less than live action (explosions, space scenes, etc). I like to escape and anime helps me. Especially the animatrix.

Yeah, I should have mentioned videogames... or game. Just the one absorbs me, good ol' World of Warcraft
You're definately right, Shiawase. Animé doesn't have to keep to the laws of physics, so would be cheaper. I keep telling people at school how animé is better than real life films; but only one person agrees with me so far...
When you watch animé, do you think of yourself in the action, or am I just odd? I like to think as though I'm in the bath house of the Gods (Spirited Away) or in Howl's moving castle, hidden under the staircase... when I do that, I become really emersed in the whole thing 8]

I like animation in general; anime came a lot later than that.

i like anime because unlike animation in other countries its not afraid to go into serious issues and everyday life without insulting the watchers intelligence, unlike disney or others you wouldnt catch disney making a cartoon like "whisper of the heart" or "grave of fireflies" unless it had some mythical beast or a bad guy in it.
dont get me wrong i like disneys stuff and other companies (don bluths..etc..) but anime and studio ghibli in particular know how to capture your emotions like none of the others can.

Keneada makes a good point, Spirited Sen makes a good point with the violence & perverted stuff lol, & Kenaeda, i like 1 disney movie, Buety & The Beast, it's awsome. lol, its a lil but more mayure than most Disney movies, even through all the songs. & also, i dunno if this has been pointed out, i know i saw something about being able to do things in anime that would be physically impossoble in a normal movie, they have more emotian. Like Nuasica, when she gets shocked or starts fealing like all is hopeless, here hair sort of flicks foward. anime, is expressionism, an artform
cheers
