ummm.. there's a little shop next to the train station where I live, and it sells loads of manga dvds.. just wondering if I were to start collecting what would you recommend?
Im a little worried about the prices as well because they all £17.99 (aprox. $36) each!
Is this normal?

Nowadays, that's only really about $25. xP But anyway, that is quite normal. Anime DVDs are often quite expensive. However, if you buy online and look out for cheap prices, you'll get a much better deal, because spending 15-20 pounds per DVD really limits how much you can buy.
Hope that helps.

Manga DVDs? You mean anime?
Well, they're actually even more expensive than that where I am in some cases, but that's HMV's ridiculous pricing. ¬¬ The Ghibli films cost £10 - £15, £5 if they're on sale. The popular anime like Bleach, Death Note and Naruto are terrible prices, they're selling just one volume of Bleach - that's about four episodes - for £25! o_o
If you're buying anime, do it online, I think Amazon or eBay would be your best bet.

Nah, with Bleach, they do it so there's 8 episodes in a volume. Or is it 13? I can't remember.
Oh, also, you could try sendit.com and play.com

I know that I got a lot of my Anime on Amazon.com at good prices. Granted you take a risk every time you buy a used dvd, but I've never had any problems with Amazon.
