Recently started wathcin the ultimate weopon series and just wondered what other people thought about Shuji.
I mean come on if your girlfreind is an ultimate weopon why call her a dummy all the time?! The last thing you would want to do is piss her off. Am I right?

This one of the earlier series that I watched in my anime watching tenure, so i might not have judged it right.
All in all it was a good show. Shuji really had a heck of a lot going on. He was a decent male lead, but not one of the better ones. I cant remember the series that well, so Im a little blank on it. As a package I thought it was one of the saddest things ive ever watched, but if you piece it apart it doesnt have the same effect.

I thought Saikano was a very good series. I wouldn't say I enjoyed it though, as that would be the wrong word altogether. I still haven't got round to watching the AMV though, as it is quite long.

i saw Saikano andnot the series unfortunately.. didnt think much of it but it wasnt too bad i guess.. i think if i had have seen the series then the ova would have been a bit more interesting.. i get the impression that the ova is taking an outside perspective and the series delves more into the lives of the couple.

It's hardly like that movie, Husky.
Saikano is more of a scifi love story about having a girlfriend who just so happened to have been involved in government experimentation, such that she's hardly human anymore. And what with war breaking out, how do you even retain your love for her?
It's pretty much one of the saddest love anime I have ever seen, and while it may not go down well with a lot of people, to me it hits the right buttons. In fact, IMO the last few minutes of the last episode literally carried the eni\tire weight of the whole series; it was just that perfect (and sad).
Debatable, but meh. But then I don't really see the scifi/ecchi stuff, was more focused on the storyline.
