No, my preference is that she report and possibly prevent any harm... To be honest, it MAY not deter, but it is better than waiting until something happens and then saying to myself, "Oh, I wish that I had warned her, but didn't"...

BTW, I have worked in various aspects of security for over 45 years as well as working with the Calif Hwy Patrol for 9 of those years...

Advice is always one sided. Think about it.

The advice given here is always honest and well-meant as well, whether its to forum members who are experiencing real worries and hardships or whether its to people being insensitive or flippant in a situation when a more caring and respectful attitude is needed.

Makc - a word of advice and explanation. This forum is unique; many members have been here over 10 years and we have seen them grow up from children into adults. We have come to know them well. Many members here trust this community and are willing to share innermost thoughts and feelings they never would on some other forums - and most important - they feel comfortable with discussing extremely personal issues, and will do so because they know they will get honest and well-reasoned advice. It may help, it may not, but they know its genuinely given.

This is not reddit or 4chan, here we are people who respect others and try to help in situations where members ask for it. This place is not like the rest of the internet. You are new here. You need to take a step back and consider how you behave here and it would be wise to maybe stay away from some threads where members are opening up their hearts and feelings seeking support until you've been here a year or a couple of years and know people better.

Your entry into threads with flippant and even provocative remarks is a very good way to damage or dismantle the very special forum this community has built up over more than a decade. My personal view is that there are people here who would rather see disruptive forum members banned than risk having the unique friendly medium of close community we have here broken.

Do please be careful what you type and consider that the people on the other end of the internet link may be in need of genuine support and advice.

I will admit that I did not work in the police a single day, and I would not know how they handle this kind of report. I just speak from the common sense grounds. Her ex is coming up to her work, probably has some hopes of coming back together with her. And, instead of facing him and articulating laud and clear that she is not interested, you suggest her to go to police. This does not look like reasonable approach to the problem. Unless he's a murderous fuсk who would pull the knife out and slit her throat in the midst of the crowd if she says she does not want him.

Saddletank, regarding the banning thing, being a friend to admin for 10 years, I would think you can ban me any time you like, no?

Do you really think nobody thought about it. There are several ways of communication phone, text, email, social etc. Do you honestly think a person will try to go to their ex's workplace without trying these. I mean really? I dont know about this situation other than whats written in the forum. But your analogy so out of place than i can not but believe that you are trolling. I mean slit he throat, seriously, what the actual fuck? You do understand how these things work. And i dont know if you have a sister or not but if you have/had would you just do the same thing if she was dealing what could be a potentially dangerous person. Think about it.

I dont think that it works that way here. But Please let this thing go, cause you are just not helpful in a real situation. Otherwise Arren has right to do what he thinks is right.

Yes, apparently.

She works in fast food, he could even go there by pure accident 1st time. And, if he still has feelings for her, it is perfectly natural to want to see her in person.

The kind that would justify going to police, I guess? That, and when he comes to order some hamburger, right?

Everyone, please be quiet. This has gone on more than long enough.

makc - Stop trying to get people worked up. I think nobody here is stupid enough not to realise that's what you're doing. As Saddles says, the community here is pretty close. You're absolutely welcome to join in, but if you want to actually enjoy yourself here then you have to get along with others. I teach 7-year-olds at work and even they usually understand that. Also, Saddles is not an admin and can't ban you. I am, I can, and honestly I sometimes wonder if I should.

Everybody - Dial back the language. It was very recent that we were arguing over what is appropriate content for this forum. In my opinion, bad language is similar to provocative images - it's not inherently terrible, but when the focus of the forum is films directed at people of all ages, that kind of content can be alienating, and should be avoided. I understand that this is a serious topic and people are getting frustrated, but let's try and cut down on it anyway, yeah?

Now, I don't want to hear any more about any of this. Do not try and argue with me and do not continue talking about this topic. The only exception is if FFF - who this was all about, if you can cast your minds back a few days - wants to revisit the topic. Sure, makc shouldn't be treating it all as a joke, but we also shouldn't be spending pages arguing over an issue which is not our own.

Anyway, recent high/lowlight: I moved home! Highlight because it's exciting and now I live somewhere with much more space, lowlight because the whole process is such a big hassle and I've been quite stressed over it.

Erm, I'd rather not read any of the posts.

I'm sorry for posting about something that would cause a problem. At the time I was kind of creeped out and not sure what to do. I've since talked to my coworkers and family on what to do, because I was stalked by this ex in the past. Anyway, sorry for posting about that.

EDIT: Email ex is not the same as the ex coming to my workplace. I have two, who are both very different people. I was concerned because this ex has stalked me before and only relented after I started seeing someone new. I do not feel comfortable in his presence because of the nature of our relationship and what occurred after. This isn't an overreaction.

Stay safe FFF!

Highlight/lowlight: xmas parties. Office ones. Man they're fun once you're there but I hate actually going making the effort to go to them.

I swear it's the exact same conversations over and over with the same 10-20 people in different venues.

But also those people are actually quite nice.

I think I'm getting more introverted ... or I always was!

Is it a japanese style place or normal modern style? Pics would have been nice, Orphic shared some pics of his home when he was there. I hope you would post some when you have sorted everything out.

Oh don't worry, we were not making any progress any way. Saddletank is totally right, I should choose my words carefully in order to get my point across, but I don't really want to do that, which makes my attempts to communicate the point that you are not already agreeing with, useless waste of time for both sides. I guess I am sorry it takes me that many days to see the loophole.

HL: so much good food tonight, omg. Started off with yakiniku and then nabe, and finished up with a cheesy risotto made with the nabe broth. Heaven. =w= Bought some lovely cake from a bakery in the station on the way home, too. We were stuffed but there is always room for cake! Oh, and I tried Japanese plum liqueur, umeshu, for the first time too. Delicious. <3

Also my copy of PASH! magazine arrived~ It was sold out in the shops but I found a copy on Amazon. This month was a special feature on Yuri!!! on Ice, I couldn't resist! Especially as it came with a great big poster~ And a postcard was included too. And a Bungou Stray Dogs shitajiki. I didn't even know what a shitajiki is but seemingly you put it under sheets of paper so you have a smooth surface to write on. ._. I haven't watched Bungou Stray Dogs yet, but it is on my list~

Thanks, guys.

WL: Trying to find a new job.. Which is kind of hard since I still can't afford to move out yet. Besides what's going on, I've been dealing with some pretty bad work anxiety in general. Still trying to find some sort of education related job.

A bit of a mixture. The main rooms are Japanese-style but the kitchen and bathroom are fairly typical for nowadays. The building's pretty old so that explains it. I can post some pictures, but I'll wait a little longer. Right now it's really messy since I'm still in the middle of furnishing it.

LL: I had to take the day off work because I lost my voice. Which really sucks because that's so much pay I'm losing out on and they've already drastically cut my hours.. I want to cry. lol

Also, job hunting. Job hunting is horrible.. But there's so many jobs I'm finding that I'd really like to apply for once I can move and continue my education.

Grammar tomorrow. Reading on Thursday. Multiple essays also due Thursday. Aaaaaa. And then Kyoto-Nara trip on Friday-Saturday. What a busy week. x_x

Nishinomiya. Home of the Hanshin Tigers and Haruhi Suzumiya. And points if you know which Ghibli film takes place here.
