HL: I finally have three days off after working a number of double shifts at the local winter festival that's been keeping me busy. Finally I'm getting some much needed down time.
LL: It's not really a low light, but my course in art direction and copywriting is approaching the pointy end and all ten briefs are due very soon. So, my day off is being spent being productive, but also finding avenues of procrastination.
P.S
it's super cool to call back into the tavern, it's not often that I drop by these days, but it's super nice to be back all the same. I hope everyone is well

Hey Farren, good to see you! I hope you're doing okay.
I haven't been very active in the last few weeks either, mainly because I've just had a LOT on my plate. I'm hoping things will start looking up soon though.

Yeah, I'm sorry I've been a stranger lately too! So much going on @_@
HL: I tried playing taiko drums for the first time today! It was pretty fun. I had a great weekend too. Spent it with an old school friend who lives in Kobe.
LL: So much to do, so little time! It's hard to get enough sleep lately.

HIGHLIGHT: put in an offer to buy a house, and succeeded! A few weeks ago my partner and I were told our current place was going to be sold and we'd have to move out. After seeing if we could buy it from the owner, we ended up deciding that buying would be better than renting even if we had to move, and now here we are! There's still paperwork and other bureaucracy to come, and then we have to deal with the stress of moving too, but I'm really excited that it finally worked out

Congrats Arren on buying the house! It's not easy these days to do so. Well depending on where you live I suppose..

Thank you! The whole situation has been pretty crazy and I'm glad we didn't take too long to get somewhere we really liked. I was worried it would be a prolonged saga and we'd end up have to rent somewhere else after all.

That's great! Considering the housing market in Britain especially here lol

Strange Day???
My grandson and his Fiance and his brother (another Grandson) and Mom and her new boyfriend (?) all came by yesterday... Interesting evening... #1 GS and Fiance are 'non-binary', Mom wants to be called 'Stevie' from now on, not sure what the BF's inclinations are, nor GS #2's ???
The fiance'd couple spent the night at my place last night, left with Mom today, but will likely be back this evening again.
Then, I get a phone call from the Mayor of our town, who I understand from the call is moving out of state and lives down the street from me, wanting to know if I knew of anyone who would like some books that they have (Kids, teen, adult [not bad, she said], etc).. I'd take then, but I'm trying to clear some of my own bookshelves, myself, So I suggested possibly donating to the local Library volunteers, etc...

Ah, I have a couple of non-binary friends. I've wondered if I'm that way myself now and then, but I don't think so. People like that have always existed, though, all over the world. 'Non-binary' is just a recent way to describe it.
HL: Had a long weekend and traveled to Hiroshima with a friend. It was my first time there and I really enjoyed it. The okonomiyaki was great. We visited nearby Miyajima on the second day, and on the third, Onomichi, where one of my favourite manga is set.
LL: Really struggling to get enough sleep these days... There's always something to do; work, homework, more work. They tell us not to push ourselves too much, but these things need to get done, and I don't like to disappoint anyone. Need to redress the balance somehow, though.
