If you haven't thought of doing it yourseldf you might do an "in-progress" series of photos of your build, Saddles. From insulating the walls and ceiling; bricking up the entry doorway, etc, installing the power points, through setting up your layout. Might even see if you could get it presented in a fav model RR magazine.

If nothing else, I'm sure that you would enjoy seeing the photos in your own album and being able to reflect back on the different stages of your build. Might even enlarge a few of them and post them on the walls of your domain as a finishing touch.

Have fun...

Wow! Those are some stunning clothes. Where is this? To me they look renaissance period eastern Europe - maybe Poland but also maybe further east... Romania? Hungary? The Baltic states?

Love that wood-panelled hall too, with all those hand woven rugs.

When I was younger I used to do mid-17th C military re-enactments (English Civil War, 1640s) and I always liked the period clothing, both for males and females. It seems to me that fashions for both genders (unless you were a very low class person/serf/peasant) have always been gorgeous - except for modern times. Men's fashions today in the west are so boring. Even 100 years ago they were much more appealing.

@ Husky - I am going to record the progress of this project on my facebook page. I added the first post today. I have been on FB for years but never did anything on there. It was mainly a means of seeing my daughters FB page and staying in touch with her.

The museum is in Athens. These are traditional renaissance-era Greek clothes. They do look similar to Polish ones, as well as most of eastern european countrie's clothes. Although some of ours (depending of the region) have a bit of ottoman influence too, since we were under their rule in that period, so I saw a few ones that are really unique. Like this men's outfit.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking while I was there too. And to think that production nowadays would be a lot cheaper since we have machines.
What surprised me was that some of those clothes were apparently owned by common-folk... probably not everyday wear though.

L.L: on the bengali new year my sleep was disturbed by bombardment of hindi songs in loudspeakers by local boys.

H.L: to calm myself i searched comedy and found " cunk on britain" a BBC comedy series. its so funny. Just looking at the face of the scholars being asked stupid questions is entertainment enough. UK friends here might try it. If anyone saw it was it funny?

Great news NC! Good luck with it all. Wanna see pics of you and FFF in Tokyo (preferably while you're both doing your side-jobs at a maid cafe).

That is so cool, NC!!!

Where has FFF been, haven't seen her around for awhile?

Hope you gals have fun over there...

As far as meeting someone from the Tavern, I haven't met him, but I live within 40 miles of another member. I'm 71 and he is attending school, whether High School or College, I forget, but other than our love of Ghibli, probably not a lot in common. Really, the subject has never ome up, I don't think so anyway.

A couple of my friends at uni got JET too and I think they're also leaving in August, so you might meet them.

Arren and I met up once, so long ago I almost forgot haha. Think we were both still in school then, I know I was anyway.

Wow, that's great news! It's good to hear about FFF too. Do you know where you're being sent?

Yeah, Kaz and I met many years ago. I haven't met anybody else from here, but honestly if anybody's ever in the area then you're more than welcome!

I don't think I'll post any photos we take openly in the forum (I know I used to post pics but it feels a bit strange now!) but they'll be available upon request haha.

We don't know where we're being sent yet - I think people find out their location in May

HL:
had a fun weekend do far. i went to my friend's house and picked him up and drove to San Diego to Dave and Maria's house. We all jokingly call it 'Dave and Maria's B and B', lol

Dave is another Vet volunteer on the boat memorial and we have dinner there and crash for the night. I usually read until 1 or 2 in the morning and we all meet in the kitchen and Dave makes up a light breakfast, we then drive out to the Memorial site on North island. We work about half a day maintaining the site and my job is to speak to the visitors and to explain to any visitors what the boats did, how many crewman, etc. They are allowed to tour inside the boats and if any of the base personnel that visit want to come by on a regular basis to talk with us older Vets and also work on maintaining the Memorial, we welcome them.

Then Bob and I drove back up to a paragliding site where he flies and I read or talk to people, pilots and trainees. and usually a large rum and coke nursed over a few hours. Then we usually go to any one of a number of restaurants for dinner. Then I drop him off at his place and I head home or where ever I may have business to take care of... A slow, wasy weekend.

Tomorrow, I am hoping to see "The Cat Returns" at a theater.
