I dont care where you live, to put 3 Anime films in the top 5 is crazy, Not to mention Titanic and Harry Potter both suck. The other 2 slots should have Nausicaa and Porco Rosso. Now if that was USA, miyazaki would be set for life, i still think he should have a N. American Division.

Well, I suggest you stop hoping, because japanese movie anime in general don't do sequels. Apart from anime spin-offs like Naruto and Pokemon, the only sequel I can remember is for Ghost in the Shell, and even that wasn't titled as such. The official japanese title is simply called "Innocence". It only got tagged as GITS2 when it was brought over to the US.

I find that even outside anime, brilliant animated films get butchered in the sequel, no matter how much potential they have. It doesn't stop them being successful though.

I just found a relatively new TV spot for Gedo Senki, concentrating on the character Usagi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rE22wXj05hs
There's some really great character animation there...very fun to watch.

My interview with Goro Miyazaki @ VIFF 2006: I just got back from Venice International Film Festival where I met Goro Miyazaki and Toshio Suzuki. I'll be posting my interview I had with him soon, as well a review about me seeing Gedo Senki.
Expect an update soon!

Wow, first Takahata and now Goro? I'm looking forward to reading your interview, but I'm curious how were you able to get a private interview?
P.S. - Hopefully you'll be able to get an interview with Miyazaki one day too.
Well, that's my secret... but to be honest I just put a lot of time in it.

Well, when I had my interview with Isao Takahata I didn't received that much questions and in the end ending up using my own questions. So this time I didn't because I didn't want to disappoint anybody.
