To mark Studio Gonzo's 20th anniversary a new TV series following the 2003 "Last Exile" anime is intended for release starting in autumn 2011. Although set in the same universe and using several key staff from the original show (in particular character, technology and set designer Range Murata) this story will involve new characters and be otherwise unrelated to the first series.

There is a new script writer this time though so lets hope the story doesn't go totally pear shaped 2/3rds of the way through like it did in the first series...

Last Exile is basically a fictional story and have been following it from last few years.
