Saviour, we are discussing this particular scene because Miyazaki highlighted it himself in his interview. Its also an aspect of his extreme attention to detail I hadn't heard him talk about before. No doubt there's other instances where directors of Ghibli films made decisions different to what Miyazaki might have done but he just chose to use this one as an example.
