Wow wow wow E_Hakki!!
Thanks sooo much, awesome find, this is exactly what I was looking for! I'll be sure to let them know how interested I am in seeing a translated version of Happy Times.
Thanks again E_Hakki!

Both scanlations are pretty good indeed , though I would second E_Hakki's recommendation of the Shoujo magic version. The scans are fine tuned and appears to be cleaner and more comfortable to the eyes, while the translations are quite accurate. A pity that their latest release is only up to chapter 3, and there has been no further update since April 2005.
Nevertheless Roarkiller's version is the only one that covers the whole of book one, and certainly worths your time if you would like to have some idea on the whole story, which the Ghibli movie is based on.
I wonder if anyone of you has read the Cats Return manga by the same author? Somehow I feel that the artwork of Whisper is a bit backward when compared with Cats. But storywise both are as enjoyable.

Oh sorry for the mistake (^_^;; )! Actually I have only got the first two chapters of the Shoujo magic version and failed to locate the third chapter in their channel (a shame that they have banned @find ). For unknown reason I always thought that the story has 4 chapters...
For Shiawase na Jikan, I have the untranslated raws myself. If any of you are interested I can upload it onto a server for a few days. It would be really great if a scanlation group could pick it up. But I am not sure if there is enough interest to motivate a group to choose an obcure shoujo title.
Now that I think about it... There are really quite a few quality Ghibli-related manga left untouched in the scanlation world, like Shuna, Daydream Notes and Shiawase. There are also several titles served as the basis of a few movies, like OPP and Yamada. How good it would be if there was a dedicated Ghibli scanlation group specializing on showing the marvels of these titles to the general pubic...

I too remember it as originally being four chapters ^_^ , guess ShoujoMagic just decided to tackle it in thirds.
Its always nice to spread raws as they could inspire someone to translate them, but like you said, this is unlikely . It would be great if there was a dedicated Ghibli scanlation group and frankly it is quite surprising there isn't when considering Ghibli's immense domesic fan base and growing influence in the west.
I was hoping to create a seperate thread for this, but I guess I could mention it here. Shuna's Journey is currently being translated at wanfear.com (although the links down) and a very high quality version was being done by Inane (but the project has been on a standstill for a long time). On the other front, many of you know that Ghibli World released a full translation of the 'Return of Hans', but Tungusku has also been working on the follow-up, 'Tigers covered in Mud' (slowly, but surely and to a high degree of professionalism). Nausicaa. com also posted raws for 'The People of the Desert'.
I'll try and get the exact links soon, but in the meanwhile lets get back on topic. Below I have posted the full Shoujo Magic version of 'Whisper in the Heart'
WHISPER OF THE HEART BY SHOUJO MAGIC. SAME FILE POSTED AT TWO DIFFERENT SOURCES TO INCREASE RELIABILITY. DON'T DOWNLOAD BOTH!

If it gains enough support, they will scanlate the rare side-stories too!

Thank you very much for uploading the Whisper manga chapters, especially the last one. It is really nice to have the whole scanlation completed.
I am indeed working for a certain scanlation group, but with tonnes of unfinished projects going on, and with thousands of heat manga to choose from for future projects, I don't think there is any chance for the group to pick up Shiawase. It's pretty sad.
Anyway, for anyone who is interested in reading (or scanning the graphics), I have uploaded the raws of Shiawase na Jikan to the web. The link will work for a while before it expires. So grab the file as soon as possible if you are interested.

He sends his thanks .
Wow it is great to heat that . Hopefully he will have his work done soon.
By the way, the manga is divided into two parts. The first part is a continuation of Shizuku's story, while the second part is a completely new story. Do you know if Roarkiller is translating the first part only, or both?

Jeez, it's beginning to sound like a Roarkiller fan club of sorts.
Not that I'm complaining though, haha "
Anyway, the first volume is divided into 17 sections (not volumes) consisting of ten pages each. In any case, Yahoo! briefcase is being a bitch, so the links are down.
But it's true though, ShoujoMagic is doing a MUCH better job than me. One, they actually have a proper translator, while I did the translations myself and then sent to another friend for checking (still sux BAAAD btw). Two, they had experienced editors, while this was just my first time. So basically, my friend (dballred btw) and I were the only people on the entire project.
And yes, the sequel is well on the way. I emailed part3 and 4 earlier, so it now stands at 40 pages. And yes Jiji, I'm doing the whole book so rest assured.
I WAS planning to scanlate The Cat Returns, but Viz already published an english version, so I might not do it after all. And there's no point in me scanlating the original Mononoke Hime storybook, since two versions are out (I have both), and Shuna's Journey is already being done. Believe it or not, even the Porco Rosso manga is translated (lost the link though).
In short, this sequel is probably my last. But until it's actually finished, may I unashamedly publish my desire to send the scanlated copy to more people.
Best would be if I actually had a place to upload, but in the meantime, email is my best friend.
So yeah, Roarkiller coming out from the dead because he's still sleepy to scanlate so early in the morning (it's only 11.40am, y'know), so decided to advertise here for old time's sake, lol.
EDIT: Btw, "very enthusiastic" is putting it mildly. Anything that can stop me from putting off watching anime is an obssession of another level.
