Hi You guys probably don't remember me. I was here before but only for a short time.
I just got the Disney DVD version Of The Cat Returns.
OMG I loved it! I have an imported Japanese OST Cd though.
I loved Cary Elwes' version of Baron better then the orginal Japanese VA. No offense but I found his voice was a tad too harsh and too deep for Baron.
Cary brings out Baron's softer and gentler side better.
Fav quote:
Baron: " Indeed! She's quite a feching one too."
He's refering to Haru.
LOL!*smirk* I didn't know he was such a flirt!
Haru:" Just for the record I think I might have a little crush on you."
I loved the ballroom dance scene. Soo romantic ne? It's chapter 18 on the DVD. Ya know what? Katzen Blut is track number 18 on the OST. hmmmm
It also reminds me of the dance scene in Beauty and the Beast.
Tee hee I poped the dvd in my comp and made screen caps from that scene.
The brief duel between the Baron and The Cat King also rocked. It reminds me of Erol Flin movies.
The part where Baron picks up Haru in his arms was also charming.
By the way I also wached it in French too. Haru's French VA sounded a lot like her Japanese VA. 0.o

Hiya
Nice to see another big fan of The Cat Returns!! Love love love it, one of my all-time favorites.
The Baron was a little flirt, wasn't he? I can see why he made Haru swoon.
I love the ballroom dance scene too, and it also reminds me of Beauty and the Beast (another fave movie of mine). And it's hilarious as well.
I think any cat lover should watch this film-it's got so many funny and cute cats in it. It's one of my 7 year old niece's favorite films as well.

Hey if you liked this movie them you might like The Aristo Cats. It's a Disney Classic with cool music and it's funny as hell too. You might even like CATS the musical. There's even a live action movie based on it too.
I'm cat lover through and through. I have 2 cats of my own. Isis and her daughter Dot. I had 3 but sadly Dot's sister Kitty died when she got hit by a car one night 3 years ago.
I'm even making shrine dedicated to Baron and Haru.
I'm gonna call it Katzen Blut! What do you think?
I've been surfing the net and there's no sites dedicated to them at all. Not even in Japanese! Not one! How odd.
There are a few fan listings for Baron though.
To be honest I've never seen any of the other SG movies. This is my first. On the up side this means I can give it an unbiased review on it.
I have heard of Whisper of the Heart and I did do my home work on it. I'll buy it when Disney puts it on DVD.
Spirited Aways looks pretty good too. Thankfully the Block Buster and Best Buy stores I go to have a pretty good selection of Anime.

I love The Cat Returns. It is one of my favourites aswell. I like the part where the Cat King is golfing into the maze and he hits his own henchman, then the walls pick up and move. Generally the entire maze scene is pretty funny. I'm enticed by Haru's VA, I find that it suits her quite well. Don't you?

Well both Japanese and English VA's where pretty good. I find it funny that both of them said the same thing about Haru's screaming. LOL Her French VA wasn't half bad either.

Aww, what a sweet website .
I waited until the release of Whisper of the Heart, so now I can see them both. Yay.
Why thank you my dear! I updated it today. I added a downloads page. Right now I only have 1 download. Waltz-Katzen Blut. That seems to be the most popular song from the movie. It's the song that Baron and Haru danced to.

In my opinion, The Cat Returns is one of THE worst dubbing jobs I have EVER heard!! Cary Elwes was SO fake....but then again, I am a total sub freak! The only film i ever watch with dubbing is Spirited Away; even though you lose a lot of the story, all the voices fit perfectly! (but it still can't compare to the original Japanese audio)

I lvoe The Cat Returns so much when I rented it I watched it three or four times. (Even while I was doing homeworld because I just loved listening to it while I was writing papers on the computer). I agree the Baron was a big flirt, but it made me very sad Haru and the Baron never hit it off. I tough surely that the Baron would turn into a guy and woo Haru, not that he didn't while he was a cat. How tall do you think Haru is? I hope they come up with a second movie, to see how Haru's life turns out.

Ah at least they kept the orignal music. Would have been peeved if they replaced it.
Cary has British ancestors by the way.
On the other hand Tim Curry's Cat King was just bad.

Most Asain women aren't very tall. I'm guessing 5 feet 2 inches.
