How come??? This is one major bootleg!!!! Please support Ghibli and buy the original DVD's! What's the reason for buying DVD's from somebody who illegally copies Ghibli DVD and makes money with that? If you don’t have the money, please save it and buy the films one at a time. If you really don’t have the money, you’d even better download them instead of buying bootlegs, this way the bootleggers don’t earn money with it. Anyway, please buy the original DVD’s!!! It’s really worth it and this way Studio Ghibli gets the money they have earned with their beautiful works which they can use for their future projects.

This is not a bootleg. It's straight from Ghibli. And for the fact, I have the money and I did purchase each one of those films individually from Studio Ghibli. >_<

Hi Shiawase!
Concerning the DVD collection posted above I can asure you 100% that it is a bootleg!!! Even if you don't know which Ghibli DVD's excist over the entire world, the fact that 7 of the Ghibli movies are put on only 4 DVD's shows that is a bootleg. If you don't think I'm telling the truth, please convince me with solid evidence! I must tell you though, this is impossible as it simply is a bootleg. There's only one official Ghibli Collection and that's the R3HK which is for sale over here: http://global.yesasia.com/en/PrdDept.asp...-c/version-all/
Just like E_Hakki lets us know in the post above (thanks for the backing me up)! ^_^
Also, the collection you claim to be original (but is a bootleg) does not come straight from Ghibli. The only DVD's which come straight from Ghibli are the original Japanese Region 2 DVD's and one R2JP Ghibli DVD only is already more expensive than this complete bootleg collection. Luckilly, for those who are not willing to pay so much money, there are also other LEGIT Ghibli DVD's from HK, Korea, the US, etc, which are cheaper.
Shiawase, please try to understand that I'm not trying to offend you or anybody!!! I'm just trying to stimulate to buy the original stuff, because a lot of bootlegs are being sold.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY BOOTLEGS!!! SUPPORT GHIBLI AND BUY THE ORIGINAL DVD'S!!!
Again please do not think I'm trying to offend you or was saying you don't have the money. I applaude you for having purchased each one of those films individually.

I didn't do my research obviously. Thanks for informing me. I hadn't realised there's only one official boxset. No offense taken, no worries! Anyone know of any stores (not websites!!) where I could purchase Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro and The Ghibli's Ep 1 + 2? That's all I need for my collection.

I have the Disney version of "The Cat Returns" and it certainly does not have "Ghibli's Ep 2" on it. You sure it's Cat Returns that has it? I know a blockbuster in town here used to have Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro for rent but then they took it off shelves and sold it before I could watch it!! So i dunno... there're anime shops in town I'm sure i could order it from. Thanks for the help!

Wow, I didn't realize the set was a bootleg. I guess if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Oh well, maybe I'll save up for that official box set. I already own the disney releases of The Cat Returns and Nausicaa though.
One thinkg though, I notice that the official box set is in Japanese. Where did the bootleggers get the English audio? Is there another set that has the English dubbing?

On the issue of "Ghiblies 2," for unknown reasons even the R3 DVDs (HK/TW) of "Neko no Ongaeshi" do not have the clip included. As far as I know, the R2 Japanese release of "Neko" by Buena Vista is the only official release with "Ghiblies 2" included.
As for the bootleg issue, just bear in mind that there is only one Ghibli DVD box set ever released, by IVL of Hong Kong and with a region code of 3. Anything that is not exactly the same as that set is a guranteed bootleg. So do check out the Yesasia links mentioned by E_Hakki before purchasing any "Ghibli collection/archive/whatever."

So it's pretty near impossible for me to get Ghibli's Ep 2 then? How hard is this DVD to find would you say? Is Ghibli's Ep 2 even any good? I don't care, I just wanna watch every Ghibli film , tis my goal.

I manage to get both shorts online Sorry, not helping, I know.
The short isn't something to scream about, but it isn't one to be missed either. It's better than the first Giblies, at least.
