Hello everyone! My first post... finally!
Thank you very very much for the video, it's so nice that people can see what's really going on in their favorite animation studio!
BTW where is the part in which Gorou Miyazaki holds his laugh & gives a serious expression for three whole minutes?! when the NHK camera crew started filming him while he was listening to that song...
I remember reading about this in Director's blog. Thought it was part of this professional program, or was I wrong?
Anyway thank you again.

Haha, yeah you're right. Obviously they could not include the whole scene because the program is less than 9 mins long and is supposed to focus on Producer Toshio Suzuki -but it is there!
2mins 30 secs in it shows Goro Miyazaki sketching a Gedo Senki scene (with a pencil or something in his mouth). I could tell it was the moment he talked about in his blog because you can make out that he has his earphones on (in the ear facing away from the camera). From what it shows us, he did a good job -it looks like he's really focused.

Cool. I just saw the video. It was really awesome expecially with the showing of some new scenes from Gedo. Is there any chance someone can translate it? Hee Hee, I can't understand Japanese.

The video at Ghibliworld was a 9 minute compilation of the original one. It's possible that the expression wasn't shown on the complete program.
You're right, it probably is the moment he talked about in his blog. I think I was expecting too much, like a speech or a lecture or somewhat! while the program was about Producer Toshio Suzuki.

Thanks a lot for sharing the clips, Peter. It is really amazing that you always manage to capture any Ghibli-related programme shown in Japan.
And Nanashi, thanks for your translation of the dialogues too. It surely helps a lot.

Thanks Nanashi. I've completed the subtitles now, but I ran in to some problems.
Firstly the subtitling method that I used (soft-sub, srt files) are not compatible with .wmv so I had to convert it into avi. This was an easy process but the file size is now considerably larger (40mb). I'm sorry everyone...I couldn't get it any smaller.
Secondly, in order to properly sync the subtitles I had to edit the translations a little so that they can be read without having to pause the video (now I know how Disney dubbers feel). In some cases this could not be avoided, but unless you're a slow reader like me it should be mostly managable.
On the bright side though, it was a pretty easy project and I'm releasing the subtitles pretty early.
Well here it is, avi and encoded with Divx compression.

NB: You'll need Vobsub to view the subtitles.

The 2nd version is great too but I can't help notice that you didn't translate the news anchors/hosts speech. Too complex?
