I want to start a discussion about RahXephon, and see if any other peeps have enjoyed it like I have. In previous posts I have discussed the fact that I haven't been able to enjoy an anime series since Bebop due to it's overwhelming mastery of the Anime arts. This all came to an end last week when i began to watch RahXephon, a series which came out last year in Japan and is about to get a comercial release in the states. It's a "Large Robot" type of anime, very much in the vein of Neon Genesis Evangelion, which was my favorite anime series until Bebop. In fact it is so similar to Evangelion, that you could even call it a rip-off, but manages to be just diferent enough to stay intersting. The animation is top notch, it uses that new computer-aided anime style where some items are CG and the different layers of animation are compiled using computers, which gives the series a super-crisp look. The music is also excelent, and the series is rounded out with a good story. I recomend checking it out. Here is the grey area though, the original digital fansubs are still available on Kazaa (and other sources!!!), but the series has been picked up for a US release, which should start anytime now.... so it's up to you wheter you want to suport the US Comerccial anime scene or just grab it for free.... but you should check it out either way...... POST some comments on the series, I'm intersted to hear what other people think about it....

I seen it, but didn't like

it was waaaay too similar to NGE... and it seemed like the directors thought it was a kewl and new thing in this age to have complex stories with ambiguous endings -__-

wow only a few posts about rahxephon

I had been looking for it for month's until a colleague of mine told me where i could find it so i downloaded the entire series and well me only being on episode 10 i think (cant remember) i already love the series it is a little like NGE but it's still quite a bit different. i would have to give it an 8/10 right now because i havent really seen anything totally extraordinary. the blue blood gives me the creeps.
