I just finished Ningyo no Mori, I story about a 500-yr old man, Yuta, who became immortal after eating mermaid flesh, and his quest to return to normal.
There's quite a bit of gore and is very graphic (although that wouldn't bother most of you), but the overall storyline is very good. More than an actual story, it's actually a collection of his past and current brushes with the legend and the people involved. So the ending isn't closed, rather it just shows that life goes on for him and his new-found companion, Mana.
I highly recommend it to those looking for something mature, yet not too complicated.

Meh .. some of you might laugh @ this but .. I think that the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters Series is really good. I guess it's aimed mainly at pre-teen boys, but I really like it anyway. Kaiba rules big-time.

Omg Roarkiller you remember you posted in my topic about a game called Okami right? Well in the game, one of the side-quests is helping a guy called Urashima return to normal after he was given mermaid flesh after he nearly drowned one day. Hah, that must be where the game-makers got the idea!
