Maybe we should use something like Paranoia Agent for the next series, that one's got enough material to fill an entire forum. I did warn about FMwS series length and it's light story though.
Ep 17 is has development in more than one direction. We get to know more about them Shinigamis, more bitchiness from Madoka (damn bad acting, that one), and a nice twist at the end.
More on that when ppl start watching.

Watched 17 yesterday. Yeah, I'd say this was another good meaty episode, we learned a lot about Takuto, even some pretty critical stuff about how the Shinigami's exist and so on. Meroko, yeah, you could see that confession coming and even with the acting it was a nice cute moment. I felt sympathetic towards her for the first time in 17 episodes.
Throat cancer seems to be taking a turn for the worst and we even got a slight look at the sympathetic side of granny recalling her daughters death.
Mitsuki seems to be seriously fixated on Takuto doesn't she? Hardly seems to be able to do anything without his support. Not good considering Eichi and why she's doing all this in the first place.
Something's gotta give soon I think.
I agree, yeah, next series we discuss should definitely be shorter, 26 eps tops, preferably 13. And have more oomph in it (although shorter means oomphier by definition doesn't it?)

Generally, I find that the fewer the episodes, the better the story. Fooly Cooly anyone?
Ep18 completes the current commercial saga, but be aware that this is just a taste of things to come.
But you know, you just can't get enough of Takuto's anti-climax reaction to Meroko's confession can you? lol 
Anyway, since we're already at this point, might as well bring in some spoilers from the manga. Yes, there's a commercial battle as well, only there's no final selection: both girls created their respective commercials, and the resulting winner is decided via audiences' vote.
The twist here, while somewhat similar to upcoming episodes, is slightly different, so I don't think there's any major spoilers if I post this.

Basically, Mitsuki again wrote her own song for the commercial, but due to "circumstances", Meroko secretly hands over the lyrics to Madoka, and Mitsuki only finds out when she hears her singing her song during the recording. In the end, with the help of Takuto, she sang an impromptu song, only it's in "mermish" (probably smthng like Yoko Kanno's lyrics), but incorporating three japanese words (tears, heart, life). Somehow Madoka won the votes by a landslide, but she later found out that the lyrics were written by Mitsuki, and by pride, gave up the contest, effectively making Mitsuki the winner.
All this and barely the end of volume 2 at that.

I watched 18-19-20 today. I'm impressed. This is getting damn good. 18 saw the failed arrival at the audtion due to Meroko's battle with Takuto and Mitsuki's collapse in the street, to be revived by a kiss from Takuto. Awww, that was sweet.
And that really starts the full-on emotional section doesn't it? We get that cute, shy "do I/don't I have feelings for him?" scene in the lift.
Then in ep.19 that wonderful scene on the beach at dawn where Takuto is singing her song, and I see that the lyrics fit *his* situation exactly, and it was quite emotional to hear him singing them. This scene was clever - some clever art used here: Mitsuki has been asleep in the lighthouse over night and her normal 12YO hairstyle is all undone and long and flowing so she looks, apart from the hair colour, like she does in her 16YO form. Takuto has taken off his backpack, wings, gloves and silly hat and just in jeans and black shirt he looks like a normal guy - and they sit on the seawall and talk - he's halfway human and she's halfway between her 12YO and 16YO persona's. And they are halfway to being in love. Its a really strong scene, it works well. I loved it.
Then later in ep19 she spills the beans to her manager and the doctor and they discover whats been going on: the doctor 'gets it' and seems deeply moved by it all - another strong emo scene.
And in ep.20 Meroko and Takuto patch up their differences and I think Mitsuki's relationship with him seems to mature to a more solid level - as a friend rather than as a possible romantic interest.
Phew! So, all in all three great episodes.

Sorry to intrue guys, but i was wonder are we talking about full moon wo sagashite here? Or however its spelt..
I was watching that for awhile! (if thats what your talking about) very cutesy isnt it? Espescially the little angel like people with cat ears and stuff teehee. I kept pronouncing it wrong though i think, i kept saying sagashite as in saga-shy-te Like you would when swearing? Nevermind though, unless that is how your say it? Than i might have to childishly giggle to myself.

i think the club is mostly dead, so much for my idea... stupid exams, plus i LOVE sola, so i have to watch all of that first. i think only roar and saddles are still going, sorry i droped out, but i have been too busy.

I'll press on if you guys are interested. I have a lot of catching up to do though. Only didn't participate before because I was in Spain and had very limited internet access. The club won't die, people will just jump in when they are interested in whatever show we happen to be watching. But yeah, something shorter next time would be a good idea. And maybe something new too. I pledge to do at least two episodes a day. I'll be up with you guys in less than two weeks.

Yes. Please join us, by the high teen-numbered episodes its just getting interesting anyway.
Having been really fired up by the last 2-3 eps I want to carry on.
But yeah, next time we should limit outselves to shorter series, I think we should try a 12/13 parter next and see if that holds interest better.
But of course it's summer and peeps go off and do stuff which is fine and to be expected.
Perhaps come the fall/autumn we could start up more than one series to run concurrently? Then we might get more users participating.
I think we need a different genre next time too.

I think we're going to finish this one. Now I've come this far and I know the 2nd half is the better half I'll carry on.
When it comes to choosing the next one, everyone who's interested makes suggestions and then we choose, so keep your one there as a possible.
Also, let us know basically what its about/like and the length.

Yeah, finally got round to watching 19-20. Frankly, now that I think about it, it's pretty amazing how Mitsuki can even manage to keep her job, what with her record of delinquincy. That, or Ooshige just loves Mitsuki too much to not report it to anyone (or pulling a LOT of strings).
And IMO ep20 is one of the better episodes so far, despite not having anything to do with the storyline. Good pacing, buildup and climax. Can actually be emotional.
Spoilers say that Madoka's coming up again, which means the main storyline should be back on track again (see to know, me ain't telling what).
