deltora quest is an anime based on the book series by australian author emily rodda. basically, there is this belt of seven magical gems and it belongs to the ruler of the land of deltora. then the shadow lord comes, steals the belt, takes of the land and hides the gem in seven deadly places. the king dissapears, and sixteen years later a kid called leif decides to go on a quest for the true heir of deltora, and looks for the gems, as the gems will tell him where to find the heir so he or she can overthrow the evil shadow lord. With him is his body guard barda, and a forest girl called jasmine.
its a really good anime, almost as good as the books, does anyone watch it?

i know, i was weirded out when i found out, normally anime doesn't touch australia, apart from the odd character from aus with the bad accent such as reever from dgm or jim cook from yugioh gx.
it really is good though, only small changes are made to the story and characters. i totally recomend it.
i think emily rodda, the author, must be an anime fan though, cos several film industries wanted right to movies but she turned em all down and then said yes to an anime

You know, I haven't read or seen this, but I think that perhaps she accepted anime because it isn't overly popular, and with an anime it's less likely to totally destroy her books like movies commonly do?? I dunno. just guessing here, yeah!
