I didn't see a thread quite like this one, and I have been wanting to make one, so here it is.

The way that it works is you take all of the Studio Ghibli movies that you have seen and put them all on a list, and then rank them from #1 to how ever many you have seen. #1 being your most favorite movie. Now to avoid arguments on which movies are actually Studio Ghibli movies and not like pre-Ghibli, short films, ext. I am going to just go off of the movie list on the onlineghibli.com home page. Here is a link[URL=http://www.onlineghibli.com/films.php]

If you would also like to say why you picked which movies to go in which rank, that would be awesome.

Here is my list!

#1- Howl's Moving Castle
I chose this one for the top spot because right when I saw several years ago it REALLY got me hooked on all things Ghibli. Plus I <3 the book, and how it can bring out so many emotions. Hehe, that sounds corny.

#2- Whisper of the Heart + Spirited Away
The second Ghibli movie I ever saw was Spirited Away. That is how I found out about Studio Ghibli and why I decided to try and watch some of the others like Howl's. Amazing artwork and through out the whole movie I was going "hey isn't that the voice of 'other Disney character'". Then there is WotH-(IMO) ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER, 'nough said. lol Actually to me this is such a fun and magical movie, even though it isn’t fantasy, fiction.

#3- Ponyo
Ponyo was so cute and funny, and I couldn’t help not smile throughout the entire thing. The animation of Ponyo was incredible and the story was great. Ponyo was the very first Studio Ghibli movie I ever saw in the theatres, it is also the only one that I own on DVD. Also “PONYO WANTS HAM!”

#4- Kiki’s Delivery Service
Before I even knew what Studio Ghibli was, let alone heard of it, I used to watch Kiki’s almost every day when I was a little kid. Every time I watched it I was like “NO KIKI YOU HAVE TO FLY!!”. That movie definitely brings back memories.

#5- The Cat Returns
I saw this movie before WotH, it took me a while to finally figure out what the first movie was. The Cat Returns was a pretty odd sequel to WotH, but it was still really good. A bonus was that Anne Hathaway was in it, Yays!

#6- Castle in the Sky
Castle in the Sky had really cool action and intense scenes. CitS is just an excellent movie, it was kind of sad to me.

#7- Tales from Earthsea
This was a real weird movie and was kind of creepy, but I liked it a lot. I wish that the people at Pixar hadn’t of made Cobb a man, unless in the original version he was meant to be like a transvestite or something. I thought that Hayao Miyazaki’s son did a great job directing the movie. Sparrowhawk was an awesome character.

#8- Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
I saw this movie so long ago that I don’t quite remember much of it, but I do remember that I liked it. I also remember the scene at the end where the huge bug things lifted Nausicaa up in the air with their tentacle things.

#9- Porco Rosso
I liked Porco Rosso. I just wish that they would have explained a little more how he got turned into a pig and I wish that the curse would have been lifted at the end, but I guess it’s kind of nice to have an ending that isn’t just like any old fairytale ending where the main character gets the girl and everything’s back to the norm’. it was kind of funny how it ended with a fist fight.

#10- Princess Mononoke
Princess Mononoke was a very good movie, it was really cool, and I really liked all of the creatures throughout the movie. I could have done without all of the violence and blood, I mean it doesn’t offend me, but I’m just not a fan of all the blood. Princess Mononoke was still a great movie.

#11- Panda! Go, Panda!
Panda! Go, Panda! Was a really fun movie, very cute, and those pandas, always getting in trouble, lol. My favorite episode/part was when everything was under water.

#12- My Neighbor Totoro
Totoro was a nice movie, and I liked it, it just wasn’t one of the best.

#13- My Neighbors the Yamadas
The Yamadas was a funny movie, but again, just not one of the best.

Well there it is, your turn!
