hey fellow Ghibli fanatics, I need some help.
Does anyone here know if Disney World has anything Ghibli in it for sale? ie pins, plush and the such Besides the possible DVD's of course. I have been a couple times and have found nothing and believe there is nothing released in this part of the world. I have only been to Down Town Disney twice, Animal Kingdom once and Magical Kingdom once.
If this is true and there is nothing (besides Promotional items like Theatrical and DVD release posters), why is that? Is Studio Ghibli strictly a keep-in-Japan company? I understand a lot of what they have done in the past is like that and I even understand why. It just would be nice to see something over here.
I have my fingers crossed that Totoro in Toy Story 3 will be the first step to more North American Ghibli greatness.
Please help, I am slowly working on becoming an 'expert' sort of speak' on North American Ghibli but need help in learning what I don't all the time.

I assume there will be nothing, simply because far more Americans and Europeans are familiar with Mickey Mouse than with, say, Jiji.
And I think Totoro in Toy Story 3 is just a cameo appearance as a background character, like when he appeared in South Park. Most viewers won't know where he comes from.

I'm pretty sure that Disney only owns the exclusive distribution rights for the film, not the merchandiing rights. So no, you won't see anything like that.

Yes, that´s a pity maybe. But you can get merchandise all over the world by the internet, right? I´ve got two fluffies of Totoro and Jiji at home, ordered just in the Netherlands itself
And yes, Mickey Mouse is far more known in the world than the Ghibli characters, which is a shame for Totoro and co. maybe ![](images/smilies/frown.gif)
