The movie (or set of documentaries) is called "Oga Kazuo Exhibition - The One Who Painted Totoro's Forest". It documents the work of Kazuo Oga, one of Studio Ghibli's art and background painters, starting from My Neighbor Totoro in 1988.
It's a wonderful film, which really highlights the artist immense talent by almost exclusively focusing on the many familiar paintings he has created. It also shows some animation techniques used in the films and some interesting interviews with Isao Takahata and some others. I'm not sure how to use the menu, but with a bit of searching and luck you should be able to at least play the main feature.

This link also lists the many parts which the set contains. It has English subtitles, but I think the DVD (Bly-ray) does too.

Oh wow , really? i would have never guessed that it was about that , i couldn't figure out the dvd it was just way to complicated! i'm gonna give the dvd another try and if that doesnt work again i'll check out the link , thanks so much for your help
