Ghibli sets new Twitter record

The screening of Castle in the Sky last friday averaged 25,088 tweets per second in Japan, setting a new Twitter record. The most impressive thing about it is it had almost three times as many tweets per second than the old record. Amazing

im sorry, the second link isnt working, but if you copy and search for it in google it should come up onto a Twitter status update announcing it. Also, i know there is a news section, but nobody ever seems to update it and seeing as its cool that Ghibli have such an awesome record, i thought is put it here.

That is so cool that Ghibli hold the record for that.

Thats a huge achievement especially when you think about how many other big things that have happened!!! Especially the Osama Bin Laden story!!!!

Although considering the amount of people that use Twitter, I don't know about anyone else but I thought the record would be much higher than just under 9000 tweets per second, for Ghibli to beat!!!!!

I don't know if Japanese Tweets should be considered for record status. The Japanese Twitter system favors 'communities' (I am a member of a few of them) and certain members can inadvertently start ping-pong tweets--especially when one community subscribes to another.

i read a few days after the post that it was basicly a load of people tweeted the spell of destruction in sync with the movie wasnt it? its still a cool record for Ghibli to have i think, even if it was organised
