Because I'm so used to building a page from scratch, the menus in blogspot and wordpress is killing me.
So exactly how "custom" can you make them? I'm thinking of moving my website to either blogspace since I really, really don't want to have to let them die (especially the WOTH pages, so much content!), and I'm hoping to keep the overall design.
Main problem I have is that the body is in a centered table, and I don't like that. I kinda like having the top banner all the way at the left edge instead of in the middle.
Oh, and wordpress is a moneysucker. I can't believe you have to pay $30 just to change the text font and colour.
EDIT: Or maybe I should just teach myself PHP and build my own blog for the main page. Such a hassle to learn a new system though

blogger has the ability of html editing which can be perfected.
WordPress is a crap it is for those who just want to publish without any hassle.
php is not needed really to make a blog. What you can do is structured html posting. php actually does this for you. Hoeever php is definitely a very very important language. It can be asset of life so for student it is worth a try.

I have two blogs in blogger and one in wordpress; because the later is not in wordpres.com but hosted in my own site, it gives me more flexibility to do strange things. But in your case, I'd say that blogger is the way to go, you have almost total freedom to edit the template (if you know HTML), not only the styles but the full structure; the only thing is the little top bar that gets added, but that's quite discreet. Another little inconvenience is that the hosting of "resources" (as images) is rather limited.

Unfortunately, just looking at the code gives me a headache. The more I stare the more I don't understand. I don't even recognize half the coding, and more importantly, I can't find the div tag that centers the whole table. It's like it's centered by default.
And for some strange reason, because I have to specify the width, I can't design it such that the table will expand or contract depending on screen resolution.
This is dumb.

Nah, no time for web building. I don't know what to do with it anyway, I'm pretty much doing the same as Wingsee, letting the website just... be.
