Let's write our Studio Ghibli fan fiction here! Anything from Spirited Away 2 to Laputa 2! I will enjoy reading them!

I've been nursing the same idea for some time. The stories created by Ghibli are so amazing, they leave me desperately craving for more and I think to myself: why not write a sequel for them. Unfortunately, my English level is just not good enough to actually write them. I dont think I would be much interested in finding out what would happen next with a river spirit and a ten year old girl or a fish-turned-human girl and a five year old boy who grow up under the same root but I have a few ideas for what happen after "Whisper of the heart". There are so many to elements in this story that is left unrevealed, so many question unanswered. I know that the film is based on an anime series but I haven't had a chance to read it so I don't know if the series carry on after the events depicted in the movie or not.
Anyway, here are a few things that I think would be covered in WoTH part 2 if there's to be any:

1. Mr. Nishi and his Louise. Will he ever be reunited with her after all those years. Of course Mr. Nishi were already married with children and grandchildren but I would like to think Louise is still waiting for him in some remote place. It would be really interesting to know how they met and fell in love. He was (presumably) a Japanese art student studying in German and she could possibly be in the same university and came from an important family (so her parents may have discouraged her from hanging out with a Japanese guy). They might have shared the same love for art and figurines. We all know from the film that Mr. Nishi have an antique shop, he's a violin maker and he know a lot of young artists but it is not clear what his major is. I would like to think he is a painter or a musician. Basically that is what I have in mind for background. The story could dwell on their days at the college, what happen to them during the wartime and Mr. Nishi's subsequent struggle to meet her again.

2. The actual story of "Whisper of the hear" - the story written by Shizuku. We all know that it is "good size of a novel" and the protagonist is the Baron. It would be nice to intertwine this story with that of Mr. Nishi but with much more fantasy, action (and flying, of course). I have a rather limited mind for fantasy but there are a few clues to the beginning of the story: Baron and his Baroness were created by a poor dollmaker and they are unique in that they have the power to love, they live happily together until something terrible happen: a flying rat (perhaps sent by a spiteful witch) terrorizes the place and abducts the Baroness so Baron embarks on an adventure to rescue her. We could even use some elements from The cat return: how Baron ended up with the overweight Muta in a magical place called The cat bureau.

3. What happened to Seiji in his two month trip to Cremona? His mentor could give him some hard time during his apprenticeship. I like to think of him as an eccentric, grumpy but good hearted old man who he has much respect for Mr. Nishi and his craft. How Seiji struggled in a different country and different culture to showcase his determination and perseverance for violin making, etc

4. Shizuku and Seiji went to the same senior high school. They are not typical youngsters in that they are much more mature, they have close affinity with each other and they know exactly where they are headed. Will other students make fun of them, can they continue to become good students with so much in their mind already? Will some attractive and privileged girl try to seduce Seiji even when she knew he already had a girlfriend?

5. Some more peripheral stories: how Sugimura and Yuko got to each other; Shiho, Shizuku's sister got a job and moved out to live with her boyfriend ( we could explore a bit about how a young girl got around with her early stage of adult life)

Okay, that's everything I can think of for now. I wonder if you guys care enough to share your thoughts on this

definitely a great idea

but in my opinion story or writing is a solo thing so i think it could be done better if one person writes it.

its a uniquely Miyazaki film, one only he could make and its uniqueness places it beyond being easily critiqued.[About Porco Rosso]

Yeah, I guess you're right. Just wanted to see such a story is too "corny" . Maybe I'll move my lazy ass some day and write it
