Anyone watching Big Brother?

Anybody watching the new series of Big Brother that started yesterday? It's pretty damn good so far, if any1 fancies chatting about it, then this is the place to come!!
I like Lisa and Dawn, love Shabhaz, LOVE Pete! How does evry1 else feel?
P.S I realise it's tragic and super lame that I watch it, but it's just so damn addictive!!

hehe... If you've read my "game console" posts, then you'd know I have a habit of bashing other poeple's fun...

So why break the habit of a lifetime?

Yeah, I know, it's entertainment, and the idea is unique. I also realise that everyone consented to be involved.

BUT...

In life, there are laws to protect the vulnerable. Bid Brother seems to transgress these laws. The vulnerable are exploited and used in, what I think, is a 'freak show'. Putting someone with tourettes in the show is ridiculous. Normally this sort of person would be helped and understood, not thrown in a house to be examined by the general public. A vast majority won't understand how tourettes works, or what it does.

Ok, my raving's over. Sorry that Spiritedsen's first reply is a negative one. When you said "does any1 fancy chatting about" I don't think you really meant this sort of thing... but I really think Big Brother exploits vulnerable people for other's enjoyment...

Or am I being over the top? I daresay I'll be the only one who replies with this sort of extremist view which no-one else agrees with...

Well, that wasn't quite was I was expecting! Obv, I don't agree...it's series 7, every single person who applied knew EXACTLY what they were getting themselves into. As for taking advantage, the two stupidest peeps who've been on it are Jade and Chantelle, and they haven't done too badly out of it, have they?
As for Pete, all I see is a really nice looking, witty, intellegent bloke who's awesome at drawing cartoons and is a really great front man for a band...the fact that you are focusing on the fact that he has tourettes says more about you than the Big Brother's bookers! Pete makes a joke out of his 'problem', maybe it'd do Britain good to not see him as a victim with a terrible affliction, because he certainly doesn't!! It's Timmy And The Lords Of The Underworld all over again!! As for peeps not understanding tourettes, what better way to educate people than having it on the most watched prog on British T.V? GO PETE!!

though i see wher your conming from phyraa - it is also very true that if the millions of viewers see this chap, well just being a regular chap and they see the other house mates treating his 'disoreder' sensibly then it will (i think) have a positive effect on how disablitly is treated by the public - becouse lets be honest allot of people dont think a great deal for themselvs so if they see people they admire doing whatever then there is an incereased chance they might do so themselvs - for example they say that big brother has done wonders for 'race' realtions as it shows people of al 'races' (i put race in inverted commas as im an anthriopology student and know that it is a non-existant and arbitary chatogory) cohabiting like regular joes.
but i dont really get big bro - so much sleeping, smoking fags and annoying me. though i did have an addicted phase last year for a bit i must admit.

I do agree with you two to an extent, but... (yes there's a but)

Big Brother is hardly an educational program about disorders. I predict (with no evidence) that Big Brother won't interrupt its usually broadcast with a half hour special on Tourettes and its effects. A vast majority of the public will see this poor guy yelling swear words fopr little or no reason, and some may label tourettes as a 'freakish' thing. Its similar to someone plonking a child with chicken pox down in front of me, letting me watch him/her for an entire day, then be expecting me to understand the phycological and physical distress the baby is going through. Sure, Big Brother will bring attention to tourettes, but what sort of attention remains to be seen.

Actually, in my case, won't be seen, seeing as I'm forbidden by parental laws to watch Big Brother before my exams...

I still stand by my decision that there's an dark room beneath the Big Brother House. In that room several execuatives go through every everyone in the UK for the most vulnerable people. They then bombard them until they criple under their might and join the show...

Ok... so its slighty fanciful. But the principle is the same. The weak are exploited in a freak show.

Enjoy watching all the same.

Hehe... okay. I guess people love different TV shows. Hey, I shouldn't complain about BB really. After all, I watch Sponge Bob Square Pants every week. I daresay everybody else here would call that an awful creation. But I think its lighthearted and funny.

There we go. We all love different things. You enjoy watching BB SpiritedSen, 'cos I'll enjoy watching Sponge Bob, lol.

I think people reading this should remember that the thread's original purpose was to harbour the thoughts of BB fans, and not, as I have done, to use it to argue with BB's lack of moral justice. So I'll leave this thread for fans, as opposed to haters.

Hey! Just cos I think BB violates all ethical and moral laws doesn't mean you have to SpiritedSen! I replied to the thread, and I was interested... not in the show... just in your views... oh well.

I'm interested even now. Why are all the men "freakin' idiots' and the 'women easy'? I haven't been watching it by the way. So if there was some sort of massive event in the house which caused everyone to hate the show, then I don't know about it...

Oh well, i suppose that's the end of the thread. With no more BB fans evident, this post has no driving force...

Did you know? (This has nothing to do with BB) RIP does not stand for rest in peace. it's Latin for requiem in pace... I think. And if my Latin serves me, that means, leave in peace, or left in peace... perhaps that's more of an order to the living to leave the grave, than a hope for the dead to rest peacefully. Of course, you might all that, in which case I've made a real fool of myself by using serveral lines to explain something you already were aware of...

Dude, watch it for ten minutes, and you'll see exactly what I mean! They've been in the house 5 days, they are all sleeping in single beds together, and two kissy couples have already been formed...and all on t.v as well...their parents must be so proud!! there is a lot of talk of banning Australian big brother, they allready got rid of Adults only (some old lady's was bitching about there kids watching it & it being explicit....but Adults Only? how much more of a hint do they need for fucks sake?) & even the prime minister (jonny howard) wnats it banned, after 2 male housemates "sexually harrased" a female housmeate. but they was only joking, she was luaghing & everything, but they still want the show cancelled. i really wouldnt mind if it got cancelled, i dont really watch it, but people just need to loosen up & stop blaming teenage immaturity on big brother, i mean shit, the only poeple that really actually pay attention & closely watch the show is 14 yr old girls on their mobile phones (as put my step mum)

I watched Big Brother a few years ago, but now its interuppted in Germany, cause of very bad ratingses.

But the last episode was really boring-
really boring people in a Big-Brother town called "das Dorf"

Probably in the english house is more exciting trouble?
