blood +

i just started watching blood + it's about this girl saya who is a weapon to kill the chipotera(not vampires). she joins the red shield that is an organization that's mission is to get rid of the chipotera. saya also has an interesting past she originally lived with an adopted father and didn't know much about her self, but while working with the red shield she starts learning more about herself. there is still a lot of stuff to explain but this is the basic story.. it's very good and addicting, the animation is good. it's very graphic and bloody though but still worth a watch.. so far i think there are 38 or 39 episodes..don't know how many are planned..

Um, technically, she's not a weapon, she just happens to be the only one who can kill them effectively enough. She didn't join the Red Shield. She was already a part of them. She didn't "learn" anything about herself, she just basically lost her memory of her past self, and retrieved them with each new location and battle.

And supposedly, it'll run about 40+ eps.

Blood+ is a continuation of the series Blood:The Last Vampire, which was based on the novel of the same name. It centers around Saya, who isn't exactly normal. The series is a new arc, based on Saya in the present, who has lost her older memories on her most recent awakening, and lives with her adoptive father, George. What's new is the introduction of a younger sibling, Diva, and the explanation of the Red Shield's history and purpose.

It's a good enough series, watchable. Not really much funny, but then it's a vampire story, so eh. Lotsa action, a good storyline. Highly recommended.

On the OVA, there should be.

On the series, well, it's produced by Geneon, and anything by Geneon is licensed from the day of production. Just not available yet.

There was a live action movie planned wasn't there, filming due to start early 2007 with that Korean singer/model as Saya (her name escapes me now). Is that still going ahead?

Searched up for Jun Ji-hyun, somehow I don't think Saya is supposed to be that gorgeous looking. Yes, she's gorgeous, but please directors, get the mood right by getting the right actors.

Well, I've never seen her act, so not really one to comment. I'll just have to wait for the movie.

Maybe if someone here has read the original novel, then we'll get the true picture. Cuz I only saw the OVA, the manga (which is strictly R-21, hint hint) and the series, which somehow turned her into a hot looking chick.

Hope this Bill Kong has the sense to give Jun Ji-hyun braids and black eyeliner. Else I definitely won't feel satisfied.

That's how she's supposed to look like. She ain't japanese, remember. She's also supposed to have lips like Angelina Jolie. Hell, I'd say Angelina Jolie would've looked closer to Saya if not for them wrinkles and boobs.
